Rain-X the glass and when I clean the windshield I also take a wet paper towel and clean the blades themselves.

Funny story about wiper blades. My wife stops into a NAPA and says she needs a blade for a '96 Jag XJ6. The counter guy says you mean a pair. She says, no just one. The counter guy berates her and tells her no one replaces just one blade.

Then he walks to the door and sees that Jags have one blade. Wife 1/ NAPA 0

I installed a pair of Rain x windshield wipers on my truck recently. There’s a yellow cover on the edge of the blade you need to remove after install.

Last last week, I saw a guy driving with the yellow protective covers still on his windshield wipers. He’s going to be disappointed in those windshield wipers, when he goes to use them. 😂

The newer RainX silicone wipers include a micro-fiber rag to clean the blades in the package.

A wipe to clean the wipers.

We haven't had good luck with Rain-X branded wipers. They start streaking after a couple months. Local flaps guy says there have been many complaints abut them here. Bad batch?

Basically there are two types out there. Natural and synthetic. The OEM i worked for used natural rubber which performs better, but doesn’t last as long. We would recommend replacement every 6 months. I would recommend OEM as they were originally designed for the blade etc. 6 years is a pretty good run!

If I had to replace wiper blades after only 6 months,
I'd be royally pissed.

Simply a recommendation for ultimate performance. Clearly most people don’t.

I decided to go with Toyota OEM. I thought I could get them on line cheaper than from my dealer, but no. $39 for the pair to pick them up at the dealer. $65 with shipping from an “OEM” supplier.

Yes...I had a pair or two. They didn't seem to work any better than the normal single blades. (to me anyway)

In my experience (worked at a FLAPS at the time), they were primarily a "cool" accessory that mostly young people used to accessorize their car. I'd put them up there with the blue tinted headlight bulbs that were all the rage 15 years ago that folks installed to look like their cars had HID lights.

I was using winter type wiper blades, they have 4x's the rubber and don't fall apart but can be a bit non-conforming to shape.

Last time I got lazy and let Discount Tire put a new set of wiper blades on the Infiniti, they are crazy good - very happy.

EDIT-1:

Looks like Discount Tire sells Trico
