Grins, Bill you take your 911 on a dump run search? Maybe that's a good thing as you sure ain't bringing home much.

yeah, I know what you mean. But I don't think so for her as she heads off on a surf adventure for three or four months in exotic places. comes back, then same again. And I've seen her instagram pic's.

I've never understood the "conspicuous consumption" class of people.

One of the many lessons imparted by my father was living well below your means so one has no debt, one has the resources for what you want to do when you want it (especially including retiring when you want to), and making yourself less of a "target".

Referring specifically to the video, I can think of many cars I would like to have to the price of one exotic. Or....given the current market price for a Testarossa I know I would rather spend that money on a pristine E-type, and have money left over for the inevitable Jag repairs.

I don’t care much for exotics either. I could fill a five car garage with cars I’ve always wanted for less than $100k. I appreciate the engineering and as they get older, I like them more but a brand new Lambo is not something that gets me going.

But from ^that^ point on, it was all newer cars .

Sure, if I was obscenely wealthy (8, 9, or 10 figures) then I'd probably have some VERY cool old cars and a few cool new cars. But the bulk of my purchase would be old stuff. Probably the newest old vehicles that I'd buy would be Porsches, because I have a soft spot for 911s. Besides long hoods, I'd probably have a 930 (or two) in the '78-89 range.
