Any decent services for maintaining an office website?

Quite disappointed with who I have been using. I can't imagine it is a challenging task, but I am busy with other endeavors. There are about a gojillion companies offering this sort of work

You guys know everything else, this is right up someone's alley

My daughter is a consultant for Huron...using her RN understanding of medical terms and her computer skills to help hospitals update records...kind of an overhaul specialist. Beyond that, whenever she talks about her job, most of what she says goes right over my head. So, I dunno if Huron does what you have in mind, but this may be a source to look at.

Whats the URL and what is your idea on "maintenance".

It's a kind of generic term not dissimilar to you telling a patient "there's something wrong with you"

Is it making updates and changes, making sure the site is up to date with current technology, is stable and doesn't crash?

What do you expect from your current provider and where are they coming up short?

And just FYI, the last thing you should ever say to a tech person is "I can't imagine it is a challenging task". What you need may very well not be but it's a trigger / red flag when considering taking someone on as a client. It generally means it won't be a great relationship.

They are subject matter experts same as you are in your field and it's almost never as simple as someone who is not well versed in the work required thinks it is.

They hear, "he's gonna be cheap and an unrealistic pain in the ass".

And stay away from Fiver if you need consistency. Who you hire will ghost you in a heartbeat when a better paying gig pops up.

Judging from my daughter's pay scale, I imagine Huron isn't cheap...If a goal of parenthood is to raise a child who does better than you, Cindy & I accomplished that.

I pay the lady who built my website $200/mo to do any and all needed or requested maintenance, renewals, updates, changes, etc. It is a simple, static website, non-transactional, a few "pages", largely serves as indicia of being a legitimate business and a place for required regulatory disclosures. I think she may spend a couple hours each quarter on it. For me, the fee is more of a retainer than anything else.

Just keeping the website up and maintaining the domain name. Current provider, Tebra, formerly Patient Pop, has not been able to swing that. They promised me a ton of stuff that I did not care about that they did not deliver too.

It would also be nice to have a provider you could contact.

Kinda funny story about business websites:

My former employer had a small string of medical clinics. He contracted an Indian-based group to make him his website. Never one for details, he told them to look at a competitor's website (competitor being a large corporation) and copy that. Well, apparently in America "copy that" means something different than it does in India, where intellectual property rules are likely different/nonexistent. They literally cut and pasted the competitor's website verbatim. And, instead of having a beta test of the website, they put it up live right away. This was a Friday. By Monday, my boss had received cease and desist letters and a lawsuit.
