That's a shame people are so juvenile. But I fear the damage to Ms. Dickhard was done before she was of age to change her name.

I had trouble with my name in school. I was taught how to turn it around and put people on the defensive. In her case, it would have been a simple, "You wish."

Not so long ago, Dick was a common name. Then, somehow, it became synonymous with prick or dork and no one called their child Dick anymore.

I think that the founder of Hertz rent a car was named Dick Hertz.
