Hotel recommendation in Montreal
Going up this weekend, staying in VT Friday night, need a nice boutique hotel in Montreal Saturday night. Restaurant recommendation if you have one too.

Posh but not the romantic vibe I'm going for.
At least enough to order a few dozen bagels. ![]()

Was just there this weekend. We stayed at the Honeyrose, which we really liked. Best dinner was at Moretti Italian restaurant.

Edit: I see you mentioned boutique hotel. Neither of these would really apply.
Four Seasons I stayed at plenty. U2 stayed there a night or two while I was there, FWIW. So they are ok with it. :-) $65 Canadian per night with my company's discount. Probably a little higher these days. I went to the Ritz Carlton for brunch once or twice. Just down the street from the Four Seasons. Pretty swanky. Never stayed there. Late 80's this was. Have to hit Crescent street if you have the time. Bar/restaurant/club strip. I was 28 so was ok staying up past 8:00PM. They are probably both nice and surely have been re-done a couple times since then. Classy but still may not have the romantic slant you are looking for.

A friend recommended Le Dauphin for Saturday night. It has very good reviews, location being one of them, so I went with that. GF has stayed at Burke Mountain Hotel and raves about it so that's Friday night.
Researching a French Brasserie tonight.

Le Mount Stephen Hotel
Bar George is in the hotel. Make a reservation. Garde Manger in Old Montreal Atwater Cocktail Club for early cocktails

That's the problem I fear, getting a table. Because I was once a garde manger, I checked that first (thank you shinrai) on Open Table. Nothing available at all for Saturday night. This was happening to us every Friday until I started making reservations on Monday/Tuesday. And even then some restaurants were booked. Been a busy week so never thought to book a table anywhere. Will be trying tonight. Back to work restoring a steering rack now.

Check out Bar George. Request a seat in the bar area. You won't be disappointed.

It was a fantastic weekend! Amazing weather and we came back with 4 dozen bagels.
Friday night was Burke Mountain Hotel in VT. Beautiful room with a phenomenal view, downside was they use two twin mattresses over a king box spring so you sink into the middle. We made note of that on departure and apparently everyone complains about it. Won't stay again unless they have a different bed. Stayed at the Hotel Le Dauphin Saturday night. Either recently remodeled or they have the best cleaning staff imaginable. Room was spotless new, excellent firm memory foam bed but it was the shower that we could have stayed under for hours. I have to get some kind of pressure pump to get the same standing under a waterfall feeling. Hotel location is excellent. We went to Gaspar Brasserie for dinner, sat outside in perfect warm/cool evening weather and were blessed with a phenomenal server who let us stay for 3 full hours over 5 courses, the last being dessert in an elegant lounge where we laid back on a sumptuous couch with flourless chocolate cake and ice cream. We started with cocktails and as dinner progressed, Dominic chose different wines by the glass for each course. I could go into detail on how and why he was an excellent server but will just say he was truly a professional who at times anticipated our wants/needs, other times just let us be. Highly recommended for the service alone, have the octopus, it was excellent. ![]()

Is that the serving size? Or what you couldn't finish?

Reading comprehension score for me = 0
I do love Montreal and given adequate funding i'd for sure own a home in the city. It is now what i remember cities like Baltimore and DC being as a little kid. Fantastic place.

it would have to be a pretty big octopus for there to be left any on the plate. That was our first appetizer with cocktails before moving on to mussels & Chablis.
