MAX has it under the WEC offerings... All the practice, pole, race also... Cool.
|
Really curious to see how the mustangs do.

Alex Palou in the Ganassi Cadillac fastest in practice right now. The Hertz Jota 963 that made it into Hyperpole qualifying crashed last night and they're trying to build up a new car for Hyperpole later today.

Alpine have done shockingly well with their new cars, one of them making it into Hyperpole. They have a Live 24-Hour onboard feed:
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/zVq2lzrMlCE?si=w63bv361uiDSKcjn" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
Wow, what a qualifying round  Bourdais lays down a fast time in the Cadillac and - like a boss - parks it with minutes to go. It's Ferrari's pole for the taking at that point but neither car can do it. With only a few seconds left, Alex Lynn in the other Ganassi Cadillac takes pole for an all Cadillac front row! But wait, there's one more car running. Kevin Estre in the Penske Porsche but they haven't been fast all week and nobody's paying attention. Ganassi is getting ready to crack the champagne when Estre crosses the line with Pole Position  Porsche-Cadillac-Cadillac-Ferrari-Ferrari-Alpine.

Yeah I felt bad for Seb but quali in a 24 hours race means little. Bring it on. The Cadillacs look and sound great, the Ferrari are georgous, the Porsches look like platypus but they are Porsches, and toyota...who cares... Fun !!!

The updated list of WEC/IMSA engines with newbies Aston Martin. I'm really hoping that Honda pulls the trigger on a WEC/Le Mans program next year. Ganassi would be the logical team given they no longer have a dance partner for 2025.

Thanks for the thread and posts, gentlemen........wow....this should be a GOOD one!

After wrecking one of their 963s in practice, Jota had to shake down the rebuilt car at the Le Mans Airport yesterday

Aaaand they’re off….

Did the French track workers wave the white flag on guard rail repairs ? Yikes it's been a long safety car .
|
Kubica should get a penalty for his move into the BMW.

I got a kick out of the comments after a Caddy crashed and kept on going.
'Those Caddies are sure built Ford tough'. |
Why do some tail lights flash? GT cars have the typical low rain light and the hyper cars have high flashing lights. Seems like that would get distracting and annoying to be behind, especially at night.
What does the blue flashing light mean on the sides of the track? Let the faster cars go by? |
I think it means regeneration.
|
2-1/2 hours to go. 4 Porsches still on the lead lap but they just lack speed. Cadillac has a shot at the win depending on how the pit stops work out, but it looks like it's Toyota/Ferrari's race to lose.
BMW & Porsche in GT3 with Mustang in 3rd but back a minute +. |

.... and it's never over til it's over. Rain, spinning Toyota after contact with Ferrari, door open on Ferrari at speed!, unsafe release of leading other Ferrari, wheel stuck on Toyota trying to put wets on ... Porsche soldiers on
|
Porsche had 6 hyper cars with 5 still running but they don't have the pace . Unless weather or a mistake happens I don't see them winning this one . Hoping that Porsche Manthey brings home the LMGT3 victory .

The weather made some of the race very boring.
I wish they would use the car name instead of the Team name in LMGT3. |
Overheard in the sky control booth:
They stuck us with a DEI pick interviewer, but they didn't say we had to turn her mike on. :) |
It will be interesting to see what the debriefing eventually reveals with Porsche's lack of speed in Hypercar. They have typically gotten better toward the end of races but this time around they were there and were solid, but just didn't quite have it. I heard it mentioned several times that they had trouble getting traction out of the low-speed corners??
Great run in GT3 though! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1718565868.jpg |
