How to treat a car with 251K miles
2007 BMW 328i with M sport option package, absolutely love this car. Original plan was new wheel bearing in right rear, quick and easy job. That turned into refreshing nearly everything in the right rear corner and media blasting and Cearkoting any rusty hardware I couldn't replace. I plan on having the underside dry ice blasted this summer and paint all the rusty parts underneath with some direct to metal tractor paint or POR15 to keep it nice. Should have take some before pics for contrast. So great to have a day off and keep this car in best shape possible. it should last forever with regular upkeep.

Nice work keeping her up to snuff! That's worth a whole lot more miles on the road ahead.
My '04 325i has 249,000 miles; easy to work on and fun to drive. Twice I came close to selling and changed my mind each time. The newer BMWs don't interest me.

If you are taking it off might as well clean it up. Not like you have to send it out for coatings
If I had a booth like yours, all my stuff would be ceracoated

I guess the answer isn't, "drive it like you stole it"?

My car last year. This fall I want to put in a heated steering wheel and either find an excellent low mileage driver seat or have it reupholstered this winter, bolster is getting bad. ![]()

Sorry to hear it Steve, at least parts are cheap and plentiful.

There's so much pride in keeping them up, and you know the workmanship and parts used are best possible.

For small parts, garage is fine and air-fryer oven works great.

![]() Only options are the sport package (manual trans) and sunroof - I’ve owned it since new. I’ve done about 95% of the work on it. As mentioned, parts are still plentiful but even the German suppliers have parts coming from China with lesser quality. You have to be a little pickier now.

Car looks great, simple masculine and elegant lines. The manual box alone makes it a keeper.

Not to sidetrack, but Shaun pls let me know if you have a local dry ice blaster with good reviews. I’m in metro west. The local guy in Framingham seems to have moved on.

My 05 330 coupe. Bought it from another Pelican. 183k on the clock with the last 3k mostly track time. I’ve done all the work, including rod bearings, timing chain, suspension, body work, etc. One day I’ll get it painted…

After clearing a steering lock error due to a low battery charge, I got to take the car out today. Thrilled with it again. That rear wheel has been humming way too long. Hoping to take it to Montreal next weekend. Such a fun little car to drive.
Vin, send me an email or PM. One of my customers recently used someone in South Boston on his 81 Turbo and he was thrilled with results and it was fairly inexpensive.

Best thing I can say about the car is it took us to Montreal and back without issue, at high speed with the most important part being my girlfriend with a 2024 Lexus was very surprised at how well it drove and ended up loving the car.
