this thread asks about why you dont have a tattoo...
not why everyone shouldn't have a tattoo. hahha... I understand your reasonings for yourselves.. mad respect for your thoughts. not so much about the judgmental stuff..

My first was when i was 19. Lightened up a little but still very identifiable. The inks that they have been using the past 25 or so years have vastly improved. Very little fading anymore. Quote:

I can't believe they're still a thing. A lot of young Aussie girls are covered in blue ink.

Kind of twisted the quote around, I believe it was about lungs. |

Same reason I don't have a ring, a bracelet, watch, necklace, scarf or wear clothes with logos, much less printed messages and "art." No different colored shoe laces, red, green or yellow shoes, a hat with some brand or team name on it, speaking of which I wouldn't be caught wearing a team jersey with someone's name and number. That's for the player and only the player. You are not him in the faintest of way.
Wearing a Gulf jacket doesn't make you Steve McQueen or anyone else that does receive money to wear it. Goes for all branded jackets and outerwear. If you take off the dealer plate frames on your car, you're a hypocrite if you advertise anything you don't own or represent. It's bad enough if you live in a development with a big sign at the entrance that states the name. Your house outside that border is the same house and looks the same to everyone. No one is impressed by xxxxx Estates when they turn in. You don't need a Harley tattoo to ride, just ride. You don't need "mother" in a heart shape, buy her some flowers and hug her. She'll appreciate that a lot more. If she is no longer alive, do something in her honor w/o cheapening it. If you're in a gang, by all means tattoo that on yourself because I want to know when there's a dirt bag in my presence. You're doing ME a favor, not so much yourself. |

As with bowling, I went to college so I wouldn’t have to get a tattoo.

Interesting but she's a little over animated. I'd like to see that in more of a TED format. Maybe I'll get through it, but I doubt it as good as it might be.

Retired, finally

I just turned 74, and I just got my first tattoo. Very few people will ever see it, but I'm glad I got it.
I was surprised that it took 2 hours and hurt as much as it did. I have to go back next week for a touchup.

Would you mind sharing what inspired you to do that? I'm guessing it's a bit more than just wanting to follow the herd...
