I just saw one .... it was hideous ...
I giggled :)
".... Say Rev. Jim.... here, take some really bad acid... now go design a "Back To The Fugly Truck".... And you just know the driver can't walk away from it without looking back ;) PRESTIGE .... yeah :D |
LOL! Yep.
Someone in Houston "fixed" one... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1721160022.jpg Somewhere there's a half a dozen surviving Pontiac Aztek's having a party. "We're no longer the ugliest..." |
You just saw your first Cybertruck? You must be deep in the sticks….can’t swing a dead cat around here without hitting one of them for the last year or so. Yes, they are ugly.

I have never seen one, people around here must have good taste in cars. That looks like a high school sheet metal project gone wrong, what a waste of stainless steel. Speaking of Stainless I did see a DeLorean DMC12 on the road last week, that still looked quite good.
|
I was behind a Cybertruck yesterday. It's not the electric part I don't get. It just looks like it wouldn't be a very good truck. Anyway, unless it was Brian Johnson driving, people were going crazy over the truck. They were beeping horns, hanging out windows, giving things up...
Thinking about it, it was definitely the truck. Everyone was way too young to know who Brian Johnson is |
I see people on social media experiencing these for the first time. Shock and awe.

We used to have a place in Houston that had a bunch of DeLoreans. I think it was a shop, and they had a bunch of spares. I have no idea if it's still around, that was 20 years ago. I actually worked with a guy that had one about 20 years ago. |
|
There was one behind me a couple weeks ago late at night. Couldn't figure out what it was because the lights were so weird. Giant light bar at the edge of the hood with headlights very low.
|
I kind of like it. But then, I liked the AMC Gremlin when they first came out.

Now if your bag is stop light launches then Tesla has you covered...except in LA where the chances you will be lined up against another Tesla are strong. |
OP's hideous is spot on. If you are being kind, extremely peculiar or as our UK friends say, interesting.

The car is a Royale RP4 http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1721165640.jpg Here he is at Sebring from YouTube. Peppy car. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MFCjzl0UJmU |
We saw another one parked at the beach last night. A Dodge K car is more interesting to come across, which is not at all.
|
The OP must live somewhere with a lower a-hole density than LA, which is pretty much anywhere else
Heard they do not have a normal wiring harness, more like those cheapo Christmas lights where one goes, you ose all of them⁴ |

Genius! EV + salt water. I wonder if he had a "saltwater life" sticker... |
Dawgs won't ride in 'em :D

I saw one on a flat bed truck in Atlanta a while back. It was white, I assume wrapped. There were a couple of other vehicles on the flat bed as well, and they were also white.

Regardless, I'm guessing it was chosen for price, availability and formablity - a magnet might be handy to check if the bends/creases are magnetic while the flat planes are not suggesting that it is also low Ni. With absolutely no real knowledge of or even interest in the actual alloy chosen course I stand behind my guess with all of the value it deserves. ;) I suspect that a long term (or even short) weathering study wasn't one of their priorities. It does make me think though - it'd be cool if it were made from one of the weathering steels that "rust" to a relatively passive uniformish reddish brown. Like modern art for your lawn or a footbridge in the local park. |
I've heard the Cyber truck does pretty well as a 4x4, but you void the warranty with Tesla if you take it off road
|
Not only hideous but they are multiplying!!!http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1721242007.jpg

Is strange that people buy them, but not as strange as building those giant lifted trucks. |
It seems someone has a good sense of humor and got their cyber truck wrapped.

I've seen quite a few lately. First time I was kind of shocked. My wife said it was extremely ugly, and I told her our stainless kitchen garbage can looked better.
Saw 2 today coming back from Lake George. Family was in a restaurant when I saw this in the parking lot. I asked the 10 year old grand nephew if he wanted to check it out. He was excited and we headed out. When he first saw it he had a very confused look. I asked him what he thought, and he was not very pleased to see it after all the hype he had heard. This is an interesting one. This guy skipped the stainless look and had an interesting blue paint. I will say it at least was not as bad as the full stainless look. An hour later heading south on the NYS Thruway saw another one. This one was seemingly stopped by a NYS Trooper and getting a ticket. I guess the Trooper didn't like it either. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1721253052.jpg |
I don't know what's really going on with the "rust" thing, but according to the following article, even the owners manual seems to have very specific ideas about protecting the body.

I wonder what people think when they get their new Cybertrucks and 99% of other people think they are uglier than the AMC Gremlin ever hoped to be. Or are they so self-absorbed that they don’t notice?
Nothing against ugly cars. Ugly cars that are very expensive, poorly made, that their owners think are status symbols - that’s pathetic. |
Night before last. Check out the rear door. It's discolored from corrosion I'm assuming. On the upside, it's almost brand new.

Yeah .. that's right! It's truly a feature and helps you turn your One And Only Bestest Groundbreaking Transportation Disruptor Truckish Shaped Thing into the piece of art as unique as you are, you marvelous and geniusly disruptive edgelord you... Though, tbh, I don't really sweat the discoloration and stains on my SS and copper cookware. It's almost a badge of honor that they're actually used. Perhaps I'm at risk of a slide towards attraction to rusty dumpsters? |
The owner of a business near my office has one. I see it frequently.
I really don't know what he was thinking. I don't know what anyone was thinking with this thing. |
These things are an absolute joke; look like a garbage can on wheels.

The best lookin Cyber truck IMHO, is the “tooned” version I found for the 3D printer.
I have taken the liberty to print a couple up and am offering them to the first crew at work to get into a caper involving one. I’m calling it the “2024 VDAO Cyber Truck Challenge” The first crew to get into a pursuit, stolen, major crime, etc.. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...3f191ccc76.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...097a2bc0c8.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...7ae4f7f243.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The black does help in a totally dark universe ... but it still needs a "cloaking device" :D
|
I saw one in Atlanta yesterday. Lime green wrap with 'Siding World' graphics. What a great rolling billboard it was. Like a 2020's clown car. Tough to not see it. So there is one practical use for them.:D
