So anybody going to Peter auto Concours Elegance at Château de Chantilly??

Lets face it, i'm not in any way shape or form, nor is me little Cayman, the type of any such event.
We ain't rich or expensive enough.. or exclusive & pretty enough.

But for sh ts and giggles, I got a generic event invite, probably because I once went to Le Mans Classic and was member of Porsche Club Francorchamps..

But, no joke, Always wanted to go to Chantilly, to visit les Grand Stables..
The place where James "Roger f c hing Moore" Bond tangled with Max "Christopher Walken" Zorin....



So figured, hey what the heck, signed up for the Rally event, with my 07 Base Cayman an so far they haven't rejected it..
Even got to pay the 400 bucks and confirmed my little 987 for the Youngtimer Class.
Sure its 400 I could spend on more sensible things, but what the heck , you only live once and Chantilly is plenty fancy enough to put on my gravestone someday, no?



Not sure how this will turn out, but in Essense, Who Dares, Wins !
And , they got lots of gravel in Chantilly so they won't notice my 2.7 hasn't got the power to do burnouts, riiight?

I just need a sidekick, so got my 24 yr younger sis to join, she in to fancy events.
With some luck they'll think my old fat ass has a hot squeeze so I must be a rich poof and thus legit for the event !

Anybody else going?

Anyway, The Rally includes fancy food.. I'de prefer a burger, but ok, when in Rome.
It also includes a drive to the test track of Monfortain, which has a banked oval !







But the really cool thing is le Grand Stables, I could have visited those on a regular day, but this is extra special.. That chatteau was the kings Cousin or something competing with the extravagance of Versailles (Succesfully), they basically regraded a swamp to get the domain to what it is now.. massive engineering works.

Then at some point another one decided horses were the best thing ever.. and pretty much built the Stables, for he also thought he would reincarnate as a Horse, thus felt he needed to build a Stable that would suit his stature...

I love horses so that really is something I always wanted to visit. And its more fun to visit as a participant then as a tourist
