55w HID head light on low beam

Hi everyone,
Has anyone put HID 55w bulbs on stock low beam projector lights of a Camry? If so, do you experience burning or crumble wires/sockets?

I have them in my wife's Sienna Van, my Cayman S. It made a huge difference and nothing needs to be replaced, plugs right into the existing ballast. Since true HID has a shield to block off light to the on coming drivers, it will do the same with these LED conversion bulbs with no blinding oncoming drivers and it has a define cut off line. The light throw is so much better and most important of it all, light spread near the front of the vehicle has so much more, full lighting. They run much cooler too.

I don't think you can just swap bulbs to go from halogen to HID. HID requires a ballast, and I think takes housings that were designed for it (so you don't blind folks).

So I believe it's possible to retrofit HID to some/many/most vehicles (whether using aftermarket or OEM new or used if available) but it's not just a bulb swap.

I'm with look. Just get LEDs with the same focal length as your current bulbs.

I believe the bulbs that Look posted are specifically to replace HID bulbs as a plugin.

But, yes, if you have halogen, there are also plugin replacements for those if that's the goal.

Hi guys,
thanks for opinions. Sorry, I wasn't clear on my original question.
It's the Camry 2017, I have 2 sets of light assembly, 1 stock and 1 after market. both are projectors with cut off plate/line. I prefer to use the stock set. I think it originally come with halogen (not sure because I bought the car used and some cheap/bad LEDs were thrown in there. Since I can use either HID of LED. I tried a set of LED 6500k (white) on them a set of HID 4300k stock color (almost amber color, with new after market ballasts) on them. They both looks great, but the stock color HID look easier on the eyes, of course. My boy likes the white more just like most people out there, but after I explained to him about the true color of light and such and some tests of LED white vs HID stock color side by side right in front of his eyes... he would like to go with the stock color 4300k (little amber).
So, since I need to get a new set of HID bulbs, I think if I get the 55w, it's definitely provide better visibility? The ballast indicated 35w/55w, so they can handle 55w.
What I don't know is if this specific year/model (2017 Camry) will have problem of wiring/socket melt or brittle with 55w on low beam.

I am not sure about the dual range power coming out of the ballast. If so, I am not aware of any but traditionally, the output of the ballast is normally a specific load only. HIDs run hot just like Halogens but you should be able to get away with LEDs and they normally run cooler. I have good luck with Morimoto HID bulbs. A little less expensive compare to a Phillips and I can't tell the difference. If you haven't noticed by now, I am a little nutty about lights, all kinds of lighting from flashlights to home lighting to lighting up your yard.

Yeah, the Cayman is too much fun. Its almost my daily driver is I don't have to drive my truck. I bought a couple more cars since we talked. Hope you are having too much fun with that boat.
