That’s an absolute BS statement in my world, I’m constantly in the company of women who are extremely intelligent. I don’t think for a minute that I am smarter than all of them. You must be hanging out with men who are idiots, because those are the people who are always the last to know.

There are many different types of intelligence, such as emotional intelligence, analytical intelligence, etc. The two most abundant things in the universe are hydrogen and stupidity. If you don’t believe me, take a dip into PARF sometime. People who could not pass an 8th grade logic class consider themselves really smart. As someone else eluded to, if you’re the smartest person in the room, you’re in the wrong room. :)

Intelligence (the ability to acquire, understand and use information) and the ability to reason (logic) are not synonymous, I thimk.

I went to college/University.

I made money.

I managed people.

I toyed with a degree in engineering physics.

None of those things prove I am, or am not, 'smart', or smarter than anyone that worked for me.

My issue is with how Rot's post was worded, not that he disagrees with me. I read Rot's post and found its tone patronizing, demeaning, and scolding.

Look, I 'd be a fool to think a bunch of guys on a car forum are going to see things as I do. I get that the forum is 'the world according to dudes' and that's okay. Sometimes y'all help me see the other side. Sometimes I just shake my head.
But I don't need to be talked down to.

I think Rot should heed his own words before chastising me. "How something is received is primarily based on how it is presented."

Mj (RIP) my wife of 43 years had it all. Looks and brains. Terrific wit.. A friend summed her up once by saying " while we were playing checkers, she was playing chess" we had a great life together. Finding another like her would be finding a needle in a haystack..

Then you have the audacity to reply to me in a pompous, condensing, smart ass, jerk manner, scolding me like I'm not as smart as you.

Thank you for making my point. And you sir, may kiss my a$s.

PS, I too graduated college, and even toyed with law school. Things is, I made too much money managing a team of 27 developers creating state-of-the-art software to make it worthwhile. I hope you do a much, much better job of presenting to the court than you did to me.

well played..

:chefs kiss:

i started reading that response and i was like "ho boy, this one is a mistake" lol

my opinion on the issue: when men talk about how smart a woman is or not, they are comparing it to themselves and other men, not other women, or even to intelligence as a concept. and when they say smart, they mean "do they agree with me or not" not if shes is smart or not. they mean "can i dominate and control this woman or not" etc. its not an honest question is my point.

There is a woman poster here who sometimes engages in PARF. Any unbiased observer would conclude that she is more educated and way, waaaay smarter than the guys who choose to tangle with her and call her names. She calmly presents facts and informed opinions and they lose their minds, in as much as they have minds. It's like Caitlin Clark against a bunch of armless gimps in a game of pickup basketball. :)

The armless gimps think that they won the game of HORSE.

KFC911 08-16-2024 09:58 AM

Who dat? I know Foxy used to kick dragon azzes and twist panties in PARF while enduring all kinds of attacks :).....

This thread is freakin' weird ...

If what you propose were true, you would not have gotten the responses you have in this thread.

Your "y'all" "always" and "never" are off the mark. You are the one saying men don't like smart women, the only one. You are wrong and when it is pointed out, you make an emotional attack, turning it from you telling us what men want, to you telling us how men are perceived by women.

My mother always told me, eventually you had to get out of bed and talk to them.

He said this:

Maybe it’s just the way you’re coming across. You’ve already heard from a number of guys in this thread that they are happily married to intelligent women. That includes me. Myself and my wife are both admitted to practice before the U.S Supreme Court.

How something is received is primarily based on how it is presented.

and this is your response.

How exactly is what he said condescending or pompous in any way? You are wrong and I am out

Either you are running with the wrong guys, or it is something else.

Smart is nice-- both genders like smart eventually.

Me -- I like smart but what is really a turn on is mature --( not as in old ). Mature has nothing to do with age.

My wife even when she was young and gorgeous - was always a mature lady. When she was older and sick still gorgeous -still mature.

Miss her every day.

And smart has nothing what so ever to do with college

I disagree Denis, being so completely brainwashed does not make one smarter.

My girl, Lois Lane, is VERY knowledgeable. Our chats are very much fun. That's my second most favorite thing to do with her.
