Got toads of all sizes jumping all over the yard this month and getting sucked up by the mower and if you lift up a brick or block there will be a tree frog under it. The weird thing is the tree frogs come in different colors: white, gray, green and brown.

Growing up we had a pond in front of our house. A few fish and I don’t know how they got there, but lots of frogs. Every once in a while, we would see a bullfrog, that was huge.
I thought frogs stayed in the water and toads stayed on land? |

Toads breed in the water, and will jump into thee water to avoid a predator. They can swim fine, but forage for food on land, and have dry skin.

I feel bad about it now, but as a kid I used to shoot frogs with an air riffle.

We did the same thing as kids. We cut their legs off, fried em up and ate them. Later in life I learned the frogs we killing were red legged frogs (on the endangered species list). Oops

Wasn't there a folk or country song with the lyric "grab yourself a horny toad rear back and suck it"? Or some such.
