Question iPhone Help Needed, Photo Albums

Ok, I finally moved to the Dark Side and got the iPhone 16 Pro Max.
On my android, I had all my pictures in photo albums, but when they were transferred to the iPhone, they are all over the place, mixed together. Is there an app that will transfer them as they were on the android?
Between the entertainment (work), my car parts and BMX pictures, I need to be able to find the source ones I need.

Not really no. The Apple iTunes is one of the worst written programs on the planet. I hate it and except for backing up my phone, I avoid it.

If you plug your phone into the computer, it will show up as a hard drive. The photos are in a totally random order, and it makes no sense.

I ended up building folders on a hard drive of my computer. If you have those old folders on your phone, just use iTunes to show it where photos are stored, and select them to be backed up and restored to your phone.

If you add a new folder, you will need iTunes to select that folder to restore and back up. Just put all the folders in a folder named something like Myphotos.

In the end, by working around the useless iTunes, it can be done. Just do a full backup of your phone to your computer, then add the folder to the Photos section of iTunes so it will back up and restore from there.

Good luck.

If your computer is a MAC, it might be easier. It really seems like Apple made it hard for Windows users.

Thanks, yes, a iMac 27 and a MacBook Air. Still learning both.

The Mac has a app called Photos or something. It should make life easier for using the photos on an iPhone. At least easier than the hoops they make me jump through on my Windows machine. I have no doubt they make it deliberately hard, even if it had not been for Bill Gates and Microsoft, Apple would have been bankrupt. Bill Gates saved Apple from bankruptcy.

Byron I used to use google photo app on my iPhone to back up photos on a google account. I don’t recall if it maintains folders, but it was handy to bypass iTunes for pics.

I don’t like iTunes and only use it to back up my phone occasionally.

Byron...I just went through this with a new phone a couple weeks ago. My old and new phones are both Android, but it shouldn't make any difference.

If you are an Amazon Prime member, all photos are stored for free in their cloud.
I had forgotten about that until I wanted to look for one and remembered....Prime.

You can access any of them and save them to a new file/files. Works great.

When I found my photos on the Amazon site....I selected most all of them I wanted to keep. Then I saved them to photos on my new phone.
I had hundreds on the Prime Cloud...they are still all there, but the ones I want to post are saved where I can easily access/post them.

Did you look on Amazon to see if they are all there on the new phone?

In case you are not finding the spot...

Go to Amazon...be sure you are signed in.
Click on the three bars next to Amazon on the home page. You will need to click on 'see all' because 'Amazon Photos' is way down on the list.
Click on 'Amazon Photos' then click on 'Sign in to web'
They should all be there in order of taking the pics. From there, use them as is, or download them to make them handy on your phone.

I’m useless on any computer, I-phone or I-pad.When I bought my I-pad I was having issues navigating it. I just went to the Apple Store and they helped me out.
That could be an option for you, they may have a shortcut that could help you.
