Lewis needs to talk to a sports psychologist at this point it’s mental…

F1 in the wet is simply incredible. Watching them negotiate the 14 to 16 complex was consistently mind blowing. Hearing the traction control searching for grip was fascinating.

Had my first recovery with the Hausmann car in the Academy race. Good adrenaline it was.

Carlos qualifies 3rd , Lewis qualifies last . Smart move Ferrari............. no one to blame other than themselves . Williams made a great decision to sign Carlos and are reaping the rewards .

I don't know how long this has been the case, but I just discovered on my Samsung TV that the free SamsungTV App has F1TV on it. You don't even need a streaming service, just internet. I missed Brazil when YouTubeTV and Disney were quarreling.

You should probably point out the cars with traction control to the stewards; they'd be very interested in hearing about that!

Ha. Just saw a meme about not having to worry about paying for F1/Sky Sports/ESPN when you can watch the municipal traffic cameras of Las Vegas to literally be able to follow the cars around the track.

Pretty impressed that no one binned it in those qualifying conditions. Very cool to see those big slides and twitches, but no crashes.

My 1986 El Camino and 85 911 have the exact same traction control as F1 cars. The driver's right foot. I am a few horsepower down from the F1 car's 1,000 HP.

In the rain going around a corner in the El Camino requires a very light touch on the gas pedal. Just a tiny bit too much go, and I am going sideways, a lot too much throttle and I would spin. I honestly can't imaging driving a 25 million dollar, 1,000 HP car in conditions like they had for qualifying. And going 200 MPH in those conditions is madness.

I understand those cars have huge aerodynamic wings and floors and my cars have none of those, and they are on tires specifically designed for wet conditions. Still, it is just crazy fast in those conditions. I also will admit those drivers had a tad more skill than I do.

The first time ever that Lewis qualified dead last on pace alone.

And the man he replaced at Ferrari is up in third on the grid. Good choice driver Ferrari.

Watched him take out the bollard. It was a surprising moment.

Not surprised by the race winners start . Antonelli quite the drive on the hards . Lewis gets a point . Disappointed neither Haas got points . Hadjar continues to impress . Hulk driving well . Piastri seems lost or not motivated .

Both McLarens DQ'd for skid plate infractions ! Huge points swing for Max .

Post 722.

And Charles misses out on 3rd by .1 seconds. Ferrari should have been on top of that.

Not 1mm of wear, but 0.12mm. So about the width of this line: |

I may be mistaken but I think its 1.12mm of wear. If I'm reading correctly, the rules allow for 1mm of wear. The plank is 10mm thick, and needs to measure 9mm at post-race.

This is going to be a long week for Zak, et al.

Yep plank thickness tolerance is 10mm +/-1mm

All teams have thermocouples, even strain guages on skids to monitor plank wear during every test, practice, race

They will push as close to 9mm bottom limit as they can, McLaren push it too hard and paid the price

Because of McLaren disqualification both Haas cars get points for P9 and P10 . An ugly way to get points but it potentially can gain big $$$$ in the end .

Reading the comments on blogs is a sad state of affairs. So many people are desperate to see a conspiracy in these dq's. A couple of months ago it was "The FIA are putting a thumb on the scale to make sure McLaren win it all". Now, "The FIA are desperate that the DC goes down to the wire in the final race"

Amazing that both McLarens are DQ.

That Micky Mouse show after the winner's interview was something that can only happen in Vegas.

Max won with pace, and to then have both of the other two drivers in contention for a championship is a huge swing for Max's chance.
