And I don't think Piastri's cool down lap comment of "Speechless" agrees with his team's strategy, either.

That poor strategy call cost McLaren the win . At the very least you split the pit stops have either Oscar or Lando come in . Championship goes down to the last race .

That was stupid for McLaren, costing their drivers points!
I think the tire limits is ridiculous as well, they should not be allowed to dictate strategy. I guess we wait to see who gets kicked out for plank wear? Politics aside, Ferrari needs to totally clean house, everyone gone for next year!

Totally agree. Plan A: both come in. Plan B: split strategy. Plan C: give away the win, as McLaren did.

I'll say it again: Post 722
![]() Great drive by Carlos! Flawless strategy by RB. Did some Ferrari strategists go to McLaren?

Wow, even Ferrari made the right strategy call.
![]() Well the finale should be exciting. I would love to see Oscar have a miracle in Abu Dhabi but a Max with nothing the possibility of winning it all should be fearsome.

The rumors say Hadjar moves to Red Bull next year . Lawson stays at Racing Bulls and joined by new team mate Arvid Lindblad . Yuki is out from both teams . We will find out if the rumors are true soon as the official announcement is to be tomorrow .

The whole Papaya rules thing is idiotic. You have a driver in the lead of WDC but you favor neither and hand the win to Max. Now Max is in a position to win the WDC and Oscar has dropped a place in the WDC standings. Just stupid.
They should have pitted Lando the same time as all other cars and given him the chance to clinch. Carlos and Hammy: The swap was a really bad idea from the Ferrari perspective. Hammy is over the hill and continues to get out paced by Charles.

I think, like Valteri said, that people underestimated Leclerc. The ferrari is a POS, and LEC has the talent (and possibly more experience) dancing on the knife edge with it and extracting "something" from its evil handling. Even if the car was decent, though, I think he would beat HAM more often than not... I kinda laugh looking back at people saying Hamilton was gonna destroy Charles this year. That said either one would beat Stroll, LOL... Will be interesting to see if Newey can deliver them a car next year. I think I am rooting for Max at this point to pull off the impossible and irritate Zack brown. My fear is leclerc ends up as a slightly more successful jean Alesi, staying at Ferrari too long wasting his talent. I hope Oscar is so PO'ed he leaves and Leclerc gets the McLaren ;-) Last edited by Deschodt; 12-01-2025 at 01:57 PM.. |

Alonso's teammate is a rolling chicane so the bar is low to beat . But Alonso is still driving very well . If next year's AM car is competitive Alonso can still be a driver to contend with .

I'll go out on the limb here: I truly believe if you put Max in the Ferrari, he would wring it's neck and get podiums if not wins. Discuss.

I would debate that premise. Given that Charles outqualified Max several times in years past with a car that was noticeably slower in a race, if you put Max in this year's Ferrari he would be whining about it from the time the light turned green.
That opinion was worth everything you paid for it.

I can't know for certain, but I don't think Lew keeps the sim team working late very much, if ever. I've had the same Jean Alesi vibe with Leclerc, too. Ferrari flattered their golden boy with lucrative contracts and number 1 status, but neither he nor the team have what it takes to get him to the WDC finish line. Hell, he's only won 8 races, even though he's widely regarded as one of the fastest of the fast drivers. I think he needs to breathe new air before his career is over, leaving a 'what might have been' as a legacy.

I think there are limits even to Max's talent ;-) I think Ferrari is where pilots go to destroy their careers. Yes, there was a period when they let Todt rule and they had Brawn and Schumi, but even then it took many many years and Todt was almost sacked before it took off. I think they had a shot when Vasseur made a play for Newey. But I don't see Max doing better than Leclerc in 2025 Ferrari. We will never know ;-) I sincerely hope Charles goes to Mercedes or McLaren but how do you say no to the life ? I'd take that kind of misery at least till 2026 in case Ferrari finds a good cheat, uh, I mean engineers a great car.

My opinion is that if Alonso is racing because he genuinely thinks he can win much, then he's delusional and wasting his time. I think he enjoys racing and does his level best with what he has all the time knowing where he really stands. I see him as a genuine person/driver just like Hülkenberg. They go out and race. You don't hear much drama over the radio. Well, you don't hear much about Hulk at all, but he's a soldier.
Alonso won his championships, he doesn't have to prove anything to anyone. I just don't know what to think about Lewis. He should have the motivation to break the tie but he has to know that isn't going to happen. He already has more wins and poles. Will anyone beat those? |
