I have a Fossil Ingram Leather Magnetic Multicard Wallet. Must be 30 years old, use it daily, no wear, just a perfect used patina.
About $20 back then, seems to be $50 now. I'd replace with the same, but I'm sure it will outlast me. |
I quit carrying a wallet years ago because of sitting on an uneven seat was bothering my back.
I'll probably never go back to carrying one. |

I used to switch from back to front in a crown, harder to pick-pocket, then I just got in the habit of it there. |
A tangent, with a return to the OP.
When I was a kid, working at a grocery store, there was this guy who would take out his wallet, carefully go through the folding money and select just enough legal tender - always crisp and new, freshly minted, - and slowly, carefully return the wallet to his hip pocket. Then he'd reach into his front pocket and take out this weird leather case, it opened and closed like a camera shutter, and very slowly and earnestly get correct change out, and carefully return the pouch to his pants pocket. I'll never forget that little pouch. It was super thin leather, I recall it was red, or once red, a little bigger and thicker than a silver dollar. I hope I gave him respect, but being 18, I most likely gave him disdain and attitude. Sorry bud. I haven't always lived up to the ideal, and some shameful reflection is my penance. Anyway, LWJ gave me the link to the phone case that holds credit cards. That's a life changer. One less thing (Wallet) to have to think about when I'm out doing stuff. Testicles, spectacles, wallet,, phone, keys. But I do have to make sure I double check the cc's haven't somehow fallen out - so far, so good!) |
