Truck tires scare the bejesus out of me .

The tag on my El Camino is on the tailgate. If the tailgate is down, the tag is hidden from view. I loaded up something long, and had to have the tailgate down to haul it the 2.5 miles home. As I was pulling into my driveway a lady cop turned on her lights. I stopped on my driveway and did not pull into the garage. She said I had no tag. I lifted up the tailgate after removing whatever it was I was hauling (25 years ago) and she said she would just give me a warning this time. I went 2.5 miles, and she found me. I see vehicles all the time with expired tags, or no tag at all.

You know what cop move I love?? They pull me over for a giant nothing burger, fine the snot out of me, then act like they are doing me a favor by not throwing the book at me and towing my rig to impound as an out of service
" F you very much officer " Meanwhile, 4 blocks away they are slinging crack , meth and heroin and driving stolen vehicles or vehicles with no insurance and registration, shooting up the hood
Then, here I come just a blue collar stiff, working hard , putting in the extra effort trying to make a good life for me and my family . I took the chance taking my old truck , because I didnt want to let a client down .
Im not mad though. I generally respect the police. It was just my turn .

Here is where I had my plate mounted . On my other truck it is higher up on the bulkhead and has a dedicated bracket and light . I see lots of tow operators mounting their plates up high like this .
I get his point , but we all know the schpeel. Once you get pulled, they go on their phishing expedition and its gonna cost you .
