Same here and I second that forum. They are easy to maintain, but as others have said, definitely drain and clean if it will be unattended for any period of time. If it's a standalone, self enclosed tub, be wary of mice too, they get in the insulation, eat the wires, etc., and can be a real hassle.

You've never eaten turtle?

.
I've had foods with several different kinds of meat. I've eaten squirrel and frog's legs. I've never had possum, 'coon, or turtle.

We do have a member here who might be somewhat of an expert on them but he might not want to chime in?

My first time ever in California was in about 1978. After a week of skiing in Aspen, my dad put us on a plane to San Diego so that we could round out our suntans at his friend's place in LaJolla. The friend was another lawyer from Minneapolis who had the second home there. Guy was a party animal and had grown sons who were there with their friends, etc.

Within an hour of stepping off the plane in SD, I was buck naked in a giant redwood hot tub full of other naked people, including some really attractive young woman folk. I was 18 at the time, (first year of college). There was some dude named, "Sunshine" strumming a guitar, I schit you not. It was nighttime. I exited the tub, wrapped a towel around myself and went into the house and announced to my dad that I wasn't going back to MN., "you can tear up my ticket."

It's a story that got a lot of mileage over the years.

I've had all that you list...except opossum.
Racoon was ok...but I'll never try opossum.
