Random other observation: I have had great respect for Palou and what he has accomplished but he was a total JERK in blocking Power during practice and then laughing about it. It was a dirtbag move and a lowlife move to not apologize. I half hoped he got taken out by another car during the race as 'karma'.

Great race because it required driver skill instead of fuel economy.
O'Ward earned the win but I will say that Newgarden has won races in the pits but today he came in 2nd because of the final pit stop.
McLaughlin was the real star of the race. Starting dead last in an untested car and finished 4th

^^^ Exactly. Nice to NOT hear Townsend say 'with 187 laps remaining, if my math is correct, it looks like Palou and Dixon will be able to finish the race with 1 less stop than the rest of the field ...'

Race 2 was a totally different animal.
Penske has had "luck of the Andretti" this year. Newgarden had TWO bad breaks with pitstops just seconds before a yellow flag which put him at the back of the lead laps. McLaughlin got taken out by another car crashing. Power had an engine failure.

That late segment with Malukas and Palou was epic, great racing.

Iowa has been hands down the best race(s) of the season.

Some folks will crucify me for saying this but, I have virtually no interest in Toronto. Street circuits like Toronto and Long Beach are boring to me. I know the drivers love the challenge but I don't see a lot of passing opportunities and races won or lost in the pits or playing the fuel economy game.

Toronto is a crappy track but that was an excellent race. I don't buy into the Karma thing and it might not pertain to Penske, but since he cleaned house he has had his house cleaned out by just about everyone including Dale Coyne. Graham Rahal looked good as a 2nd tier team. The other 2 RLL drivers had a typical result.

With such a good beginning, Ganassi will probably walk this home. But give O'Ward a very good last part of the season and there will be an upset. It's Álex Palou's to lose. Actually AP drove well but the strategy sucked. That's not on him.

I thought it was a very good race, and I do not care for the street courses.

And unlike every F1 & Nascar race, it was exciting from beginning to end. Aggressive moves at every turn on every lap, and ever-changing strategy calls

Really bad luck for Rossi. Slight brush of the wall that should have been nothing .... but right where the 2 pieces of concrete were slightly out of alignment - destruction!

I saw a lot of "bad luck timing" of pitstops and crashes as the determining factors as to who won. I didn't see a lot of driver skill. Iowa had 10 times better racing.

Especially with all the yellow periods and subsequent restarts.

Yeah, it was a completely boring master class. I do appreciate the generational talent, but wow, I'd like a fight. Other than Lunngard, it was kinda boring. Pato at least gave his all at the end.

I'm not downplaying Palou's talent, but at the end he was putting about a second a lap on everyone. Literally driving away down the front straight. That can't be attributable to driving alone. He was only tenths of a second quicker in qualifying. So obviously he had better tires and/or a faster car then the rest. That may be due to his talent in setup and tire management. Kudos to Ganassi for once again, somehow, calling a perfect race.

Club Racer to race steward, pointing to a competitor's car: He's cheating!
Steward: "how do you know?"
Racer: ""Because I'm cheating and he pulls me down the straight."
