Herta's 2nd run was very impressive. Go out and flip and wreck a car, then go back out a few hours later in a hastily prepped backup having no idea how it's going to handle and lay down 4 consistent laps to make it into the field. Nerves of steel.

Lol. 100%
P.T. was great for the broadcast team and then disappeared. Anyone know why?

^^^ He raced in the Trans-Am race this year at Sebring.
Coolest livery in the field fails to qualify! The retro 'spin and win' Miller High Life car.

Story of the day had to be Penske caught 'cheating' - both cars out of qualifying
So did they run the cars that way yesterday or did someone get creative and modify them last night? I thought for sure Rosenqvist was going to lay down a 234 at the end. Not to be.

Maybe there is one more to come and someone gets their 5th Indy 500 win? Other thoughts: -It was fun to see Taco go for it (as always). -Penke has had a few screw-ups lately but as much as they like Pole Position, its not how you start but how you end up. 7-9th starting is very doable.

Yeah, on the Penske 'cheating', why weren't they pushed all the way back to the rear of the grid?

![]() Definitely a rogue junior mechanic ![]() Prema are a serious competitor with lots of racing experience, just not Indycar, will be interesting to see what the team can do on race day

Italian team comes along and takes a static old design to a new level.

Yes, embarrassing for the Capt. but not as embarrassing as it was for Cindrick who had to answer to it on live TV. He knew about it from the get go, I believe, and pulled the other car out before it was questioned. Didn't they have to go thru tech inspection before they ran their qualifying laps?

Cindrick was dancing all around the issue in the interview.

Yes, the cars passed tech for Q1 but nobody really knows if the filler was on the attenuator or not at that time. Probably, but likely not something they would pay much attention to. A very, very small modification but when you're dealing with 1000ths of a second, it could make a difference.

Plus $100k fine each, loss of qually points, and pit box selection.

2nd year in a row Tim's had to stand down from the 500 due to a "cheating" issue.
IDK whether they knew prior to be called on it that it was not permitted. They massage a lot of gaps for Indy. Yes, the rule is clear, but in retrospect. Odd that Scotty Mac's trashed car didn't have that area faired.

So who will take the fall? Roger does not like being embarrassed. Firing the alleged rogue junior mechanic is too easy. The buck really stops with Cindrick.

Kudos to the series for doing the right thing today and setting Josef and Will at the back. Josef is going to get a reputation as well...
