Oilers need to wake up.

What a beat down……..

Unless you were a Panthers fan, it wasn't the most exciting game.
Now, there are TWO cities that love Marchand. He earned his place on the team for sure.

I think the 2nd goal near the end of the 1st period took the energy out of the Oilers . Panthers earned the win and the cup . Congratulations

Goalie Bob & the rest of the Cats were - flat-out - the better team. Next year's version of the "oinklers" have to find a new netminder before McDavid & Draisaitl start to look elsewhere for a cup. Four out of the last six cup finals were won by Florida teams. Have a good summer Gents

No Oilers fan here. Was disappointed that they went out with out much of a fight in game 6.

Second place is the first loser.... So the Oilers came in first with that.
They do have some talent and when those (1.5) lines bring the pressure they are very hard to defend against. Hardly a team that was designed to win at the cup level.

Florida was bringing it with all 4 lines. Great team effort and very well coached.

8 Canadians on the Florida roster.
5 Americans
4 Finns
2 Russians
2 Czechs
1 Swede, German and Latvian

So in a way, the folks from north of the 49th still win the cup... :)

Calgary misses Sam Bennet probably more than Tkachuk but there is always next year for the Flames. Hopefully some more well engineered trades and great draft picks will move on the rebuild. They missed the playoffs in the last week of the regular season ending up with 96 points. Not bad for a crew that was predicted to be competing for the #1 draft pick this past season.

It is noteworthy that the Panthers just played their game. They made the Oilers react to them rather than them react to what the Oilers wanted to do.

As McDavid said, The Oilers just kept doing the same thing over and over again and it didn't work.

Panthers were a better team in everyway.
