Yeah, did you hear hotel maids wants 30 an hour to fold your bed sheets and wash your tub.
No tip. Piss of at the whole tip thing and run it for all the good service folks. No tip at fast food joints and do not tip 30% neither. I have been trying my hardest to tip only on the amount and not on top of tax.
Wife and I eat out often and usually bring home something for kids from restaurants. I use to tip on top of everything. Then I thought about it and ask myself why I tip for take out? Kids food is often 20-25 bucks pre person. That's 20-25% on top of 50 dollars. Its no different if I just picked it up from the counter? Not I order separately, not because I can't afford it but I am piss off at the whole tip culture around here.

I have only ever tipped the maid service in a hotel once or twice. I never think about it. You don't really know if you're tipping the person that made your bed every day or maybe that person is out the day that you left so you could be tipping someone that just came in after your stay. I have to assume that those folks are making a living wage.

Tip culture :( ... yep!
I grew up in the south ... you tipped at sit-down restaurants ... no where else.
I never ever received a tip for bagging groceries and taking them out to a car ... didn't expect one either.
Chick-Fil-A employees will NOT accept tips btw ;)
Even at a drive-thru line .... I have tried ... a few times.
An "expected tip?", for nada ... bite me :D
EDITED: Bartenders GET tipped ... bigly :)

When I was a bagger, I did occasionally get a tip when I took the groceries out to the car and loaded them. I would usually refuse it once, but I wasn't going to stand there and argue. It rarely happened though. I certainly wasn't expecting it, and I've taken groceries out in the pouring rain (Florida rain) and come back soaked to the bone.
If I go to a regular restaurant (not fast food) and someone has bagged up an order that I'd taking home, I'll tip a couple/few bucks for the boxing, bagging, inclusion of small items, etc....
