Anyone good at German scissor/shear ID?

![]() They have a "GFC" marking at the pivot with the word Germany underneath. I'd like to know where to get a pair.

			They may be "BMT Medizintechnik".

The "GFC" may be part of the model number. BMT Surgical Instruments - Dental Instruments, Plastic Surgery Instruments, Veterinary Instruments

Do you use those? Nice hand pinchers there on the handles. If you operate one handed to close it, you can get you one of those nasty blood blisters.

![]() I can't help with the manufacturer. I did a search on Google.de - GFC is not a tool company. The scissors / shears you picture look like they may be from the 60s. Maybe obsolete? Too many people got pinched? G |

These are my brother's from his time Baylor dental school issued to him about 1990. He would like another pair as nothing he has tried since then has worked as well. They have been sharpened many times.

As an alternative, Pakistan and India make fairly decent surgical/dental instruments. I would even look at anything made in China or Taiwan.

I’m not too sure about specific German brands, but I had a hard time identifying some scissors too. I ended up buying a pair from https://www.japanscissors.com.au/ — not German, but solid quality. Might be worth checking out if you’re open to other options.
