Copius teeth brushing before Dentist?

I do. growing up under the rule of a narcissist, I care too much what others think. haha.

working on it. about to head out to the Dentist. I ate my oatmeal with blueberries, and I hit the bathroom sink right away. flossing, brushing 2-2.5minutes..then I waterPICKED!! in my defense a huge sheet of blueberry skin did flush out, after avoiding my floss and brush. disaster averted.

I joke about this..I have gone to him straight after a Korean lunch. I did brush in his office. he will have to deal with my coffee I drink on my commute to him.

you? you tidy up before the housecleaner shows up?

With the dentist, yes. I would be embarrassed to show up with something stuck between my teeth.

My teeth are always pretty clean. I do a quick brush before a visit just to freshen up.

Make 'em earn their money. Have a bunch of raw brocolli, bagel with poppy seeds, and oreos in the parking lot right before you go in and then a spoonful of minced garlic.

Yes, brush and floss before you go to the dentist. I'm sure they have to deal with enough nasty stuff without my mouth adding to the mix.

At least you don't have to go to the gynecologist!

I used to have a lot of fun with my Dr. Bukk fake teeth. The look on people's faces was great. Should buy another one. It would be fun to wear it to my next appointment.

I like to chew up a handful of Oreos just before walking into the dentist's office. It gets his hopes up for ordering that new Corvette.

Nope. That's what I pay them for. Maybe a breath mint though. I chewed a Clorets once on the way to the dentist and it turned the inside of my mouth green Good times lol.

I just went to the dentist this past Wednesday.

This thread has me rolling on the floor laughing.

I've been seeing the same hygienist for close to 25 yrs if not more now. She claimed me one day when she said I'd seen every other hygienist in the office but none twice in a row. So far she's put up with me and I like that she doesn't hurt me when cleaning my teeth.

Noooo! First thing he tells us”. I’m retiring in September “

I profoundly saddened by this news. I moved away from this town, and we commute back to see him. He is that good.

I’m not ready for modern factory dentistry

I always brush and floss before I go to the dentist.

I’m not always been the greatest patient, but since my last visit a couple months ago, I’ve been using the floss, the little Christmas tree pics and brushing for two minutes with an electric toothbrush. Those two minutes are the longest two minutes of my day.

I've been using a Sonicare for so long that I've learned how to make my bed while brushing my teeth.

I was humiliated as an eight year old back in the 1950's. I did not brush my teeth before visiting the dentist. He pulled out cornflake pieces from my teeth. Ever since then I make sure I brush my teeth before visiting the dentist.

That sucks. Check around, maybe more local to you to see who other folks like. I got a great optometrist that way, and had a dentist for a short time that was also good by checking online reviews. Both had TONS of reviews and the reviews were almost unanimously good.

As you walk across the parking lot to the office you pound down some Oreos . As you open the door you take a few gulps of grape or cranberry juice . As you wait to be called that mess is bubbling in your mouth . When your name is called it's a glorious moment . Let the games begin .

Of course I do. It is the proper thing to do. He or your hygienist are not the cleaning lady. And some people treat them like that surprisingly. I know this first hand since my wife spent 35 years as oa hygienist. And a very good one. I would put her in the top 1% of all hygienists in the country. Her brother is my dentist and is an artist. His father was a dentist and also an artist. Taught at Northwestern in Chicago too. Nationally recognized endodontist as well.

Brush your teeth before you go and don't joke about eating Oreos before your appointment. Believe me, they do not think it is funny and hear it ALL the time.
