I was starting to think the plug may have been pulled, for good...

Brian 162 06-05-2025 04:49 PM

It’s working o/k for me tonight

masraum 06-05-2025 05:31 PM

PP was gone
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1749173440.jpg

But now it's back and fast. Woo Hoo!

Thank the Sacred Pelican for eating the fast fish and speeding up the forums!

I was pleasantly surprised to see PPOT pop-up quickly and no login required!

masraum 06-05-2025 07:11 PM

Another database error, but only for a short period and back again.

I'm happy with the results of whatever they did.

WPOZZZ 06-05-2025 07:50 PM

Wow! It is really fast now.

HobieMarty 06-05-2025 08:42 PM

Dang, the forum is lightning, lightning, lightning!!!

It feels like they injected the forum with 100 shot of NOS!

WEEEEEEEEeeeeee our addiction connection has come through!!!

astrochex 06-06-2025 01:27 AM

Thanks to the guru who fixed the error.

KFC911 06-06-2025 01:47 AM

Thank you to "da guru" :)

I did notice the CAU count was off the scale again yesterday (even moreso) as it hit 12K users ... 3 times the "new normal" of the past 8 months ... now cut in half this morning.

Cause or effect?

If "I wasn't causing this (by design)" ... then "I" would want this to cease if I was still a guru...

But I am not one of those ;)

Thank you ...

KFC911 06-06-2025 02:02 AM

CAU is at 15K right now... still speedy tho' :)

KFC911 06-06-2025 02:03 AM

Now 20K ....

KFC911 06-06-2025 02:07 AM

Now 23K ... legit (by design) or just latent ... ready to ???.

Just pointing out the obvious .... if that CAU count even matters (what is it counting?) ... I dunno???

KFC911 06-06-2025 02:08 AM

Now 7K ....

Oink, oink :D

KFC911 06-06-2025 02:19 AM

Now at 25K+ ... I hope this is a "guru" stress testing this site... or the "guru" needs to nip it. Or mebbe that count is just "a number" for display....

Site is super fast tho' .... and not dead yet.

I will stop now..... hth.

KFC911 06-06-2025 02:53 AM

CAU count is way down now, but the site is now "effectively down" ... again.

At least it's Monday .... so yippee :)

masraum 06-06-2025 08:01 AM

Interesting about the CAU count. I have been getting "database error" messages all morning (since ~7am central).

911 Rod 06-06-2025 08:16 AM

What a mess

masraum 06-06-2025 09:22 AM

The speed seems to have reverted a bit. It's not as slow as it was yesterday or the past few days, but it's not as fast as it was last night either.

Synchro Joe 06-06-2025 09:29 AM

Was OK last night, or late afternoon, now back to the minutes to load an individual topic. Get this message again, and again.

Seems that it's back to speedy after some intermittent problems throughout the day.

rwest 06-06-2025 11:00 AM

I have no clue how AI works, but this site has got to be the most comprehensive stores of air cooled Porsche data, so I wonder if the AI bots are spending a lot of time here slowing it down for those of us who breathe and pee?

As soon as I posted that, it shut down again… 😂

Then, I kept getting that database error.

stevej37 06-06-2025 06:15 PM

Monday around 2pm it will be back is my guess.

Bill Douglas 06-06-2025 11:45 PM

And when it's fast it's FAST.

A930Rocket 06-07-2025 01:25 AM

It’s really hit or miss the last few days.

Would having to register to browse the forums help?

cabmandone 06-07-2025 03:26 AM

The OT site is pretty fast this morning. Clicked on PARF and it's slooooooooow. Not a bad thing.

Once I stopped piss'n everybody off ... my visits are short, sweet, and fast :)!

Hope that "invalid logon ID" limit reached ... permanent ban thingy is higher than the current CAU counts too ... I blame Steve for making me bigly stoopid :D

recycled sixtie 06-07-2025 04:46 AM

It seems to be very fast now. Thanks to the maintenance staff and Pelican Parts for letting me access it. :)
Cheers, Guy.
