Very cool! Since it's a worked motor, I'd certainly consider it muscle. I like the white with green stripes. That's an usual combination, but looks great!

Sure, Challenger/Charger, Camaro, and Mustang, should IMHO be considered modern muscle.

Hasn't Dodge/Chrysler killed the Ch* cars off in favor of some sort of hybrid version that isn't selling?

The brand new ones are either a straight six or EV, I’d say no to a muscle car. They also look like a melted caricature of the previous generation. I don’t think they are selling many of them either.

Right, whatever the newest gen is (2026 or 2025) are not. But the previous gen with the various SRT, scat pack, 392, demon, redline, diable, etc... whatever right up to the 1025hp version were certainly muscle.

Absolutely, they were peak muscle. Big powerful V8 in a car that was otherwise pretty mediocre. But somehow still a fun package.

I had a 2018 Challenger 392 (485hp/475lb/ft) NA that was fun. Fast enough, sounded great running through the gears. Knowledgeable Mopar people said it was overall a better engine than the 426 Hemi, which doesn't surprise me. Smooth as silk, really. Stuck like glue on smooth pavement. Uneven pavement it was too stiff and got discombobulated. This generation Challenger was built on an E-Class chassis because it was built during the Daimlerchrysler years. After I got it, I found a guy that probably could have made me a good enough payment to swing a Hellcat, which would have been awesome. They started at 707hp and were a landmark. My battery kept going dead. By the time they figured it out (defective infotainment unit) I was already Lemon Law'ing it. Got 99% of my money back after 2.5 years because the first event was at 1,500 miles. The last 6 months drove it sparingly because an accident would have screwed up the refund.

Thanks Marty. I have had that thing kicking around since buying it on the Ocean City boardwalk in 1990. After all those years, it was a bit of a pain to install.

I thought the discussion was, is the old muscle car mystic dead, like fading away? Personally I respect them but I’m 55. I never really liked the look, a bit machismo for me. Same for Vettes, I’m strange like that. I don’t know many young people but the ones I do, love the Japanese stuff. Whether forced there due to pricing, not wanting to be like dad or more exposure with Japanese car culture, I don’t know.
Observation, I was having dinner last week in Plymouth (by the rock) on the waterfront. Older guys kept doing the loop in there old muscle. I asked the question to my friend and am curious to the answer, is cruising dying out as well?
Far as that IROC, love it. I’m an 80’s kid.

If 140 was bad in a Mustang II, imagine how bad it was in an LTDII... Terrible.

If Mustang II's handle so poorly, why are their front end parts so popular for hot rods? Dimensions?

Nice Camaros. The green and white does look good. I always liked the reverse combo on the early ones too.

I don't think it's their "front end" as much as it's their rack and pinion steering. I think the steering rack is small and short and fits nicely in a variety of vehicles that have big engines that get in the way of the vehicle's original steering gear.

Yep, I remember it was common to read that a hot rod would be tricked out with the Mustang II front suspension and a Jaguar rear end.
