That farewell concert was really wonderful and it's weird to say it but this news makes that farewell concert really really wonderful and sad and really awesome and sad and perfect
Not Colonel Bruce perfect but classy second place. |
In '73 BS albums helped destroy the console stereo in my parents' living room when they weren't at home.
RIP Ozzy... |
Loved his part in "The decline of Western Civilization Part II"
Funny, down to earth guy--reminded me of Lemmy. |

The thing I found interesting about Ozzy was the difference in speech between talking and singing . To hear him do an interview he sounded like a stammering incoherent idiot . But to hear him sing was 100 % different . Just amazing really , like two different people . He had a powerful singing voice . RIP

It's a shame as I was a big Black Sabbath and Ozzy fan.
What bothers me more is he was only 15 years older than me. I guess all of our clocks are ticking. RIP Ozzy |

I am not sure why, but I never really listened to his music until my son was in High School and college.
We would go for Saturday drives together, first in the 964 then in Choc's 560SL. He began to appreciate my music sensibilities and I his. I just didn't know the impact Ozzy had...I am happy I caught up. Quick Sea Story. Jack's fiance gave him tickets to a Steely Dan concert in Richmond, Va a few years ago. The encore was, of course, My Old School: The lady sitting next to him, probably my age or older, couldn't believe he knew all the lyrics. RIP Ozzy. I get it. |
Babylon Bee
Ozzy Clarifies To St. Peter He Was Just Joking About The Whole Satanism Thing http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1753299472.jpg PEARLY GATES — Rock legend Ozzy Osbourne sought to do away with some of the confusion about his life on Earth when arriving at the entrance to Heaven, clarifying to St. Peter that he was just joking about the whole Satanism thing. After the end of his earthly life, Osbourne was seen by angelic witnesses explaining to St. Peter that his time spent surrounding himself with ghoulish, macabre decor and biting the heads off of bats was just for show. "About all that satan-worship stuff, you know that was just an act, right, mate?" Osbourne was heard saying to St. Peter. "That ‘I'm the devil' biz was just a bit of flashy stage presence, yeah? Crazy way to get attention and set y'self apart from other bands, innit? I know it might seem like I'm evil and whatever, but y'gotta understand I'm down with the man upstairs, yeah, mate?" One angelic insider reported that St. Peter remained skeptical. "I'm not sure he was buying it," the source said. "Ozzy was adamant that he's been a God-fearing Christian his whole life, and that his persona of being a blood-drinking, Satan-worshipping demon-king was just an attempt to put on a good show. At least that's what it sounded like he was saying. I can't be totally sure." At publishing time, Osbourne had been granted probationary access to Heaven pending further review. |
The Babylon Bee spoof is creative but, "if" (I say if to avoid a religion argument) there is Heaven and Hell then it really sucks for Osborne if he didn't take proper steps to be prepared for eternity before he died. Just sayin...

I can't believe he made it to age 50, much less 76. I've read several rock star bios with lots of stories about touring with Ozzy. The man was beyond nuts, even if those stories are only 10% true. Only Keith Moon could have topped him and made it to age 32.
