Excellent solution. Code keeps wood a certain distance from grade. With steel, as long as there is access all around, you could lay that sucker 3" from the soil. I'll have to remember that one now that I'm fully retired and never to set foot in a reno again.

50 years and a new shoulder was enough. You could call it 60 or 65 if you count the dabbling I did before I left the automotive world for the trades. (Never really left the world of autos/racing, but it wasn't my main source of income.)
