I restore instrument clusters and refinish wood for old Mercedes, I do a bunch of stuff but some things you cannot restore. Once those knobs for the headlights, etc., are pickles, they will never be cucumbers again. This car is all cucumber.

I like the roofline.

My dad had a GMC Sprint in the 80s. Ugly as sin, classic GM junk.

Did you actually look at all of the photos, or at least many of them? This car is showroom new and loaded with more options that probably any '66 El Camino ever built. The place that restored it is one of the best I've ever seen, it's not over-restored like 99.9% of restored cars, it looks factory new everywhere. Just unbelievable.

Wheel covers can be changed to taste but I would drive this car just as is.

Believe it or not, I looked at all of them.

Initially I didn't click on the auction when it first appeared since I thought it was just a stock car that some old man had kept for a long time. I can't believe someone would put that kind of money into a car like that.
Even in the restored but not over restored condition this one is in, in the end, it still is going to drive like a mid-60's car. If that's your cup of tea, go for it.

I could see buying this. It's not nearly as nice, but then it would be easier to drive without worry.

^^^ With exception of the 67-69 Camaro and 68-73 Corvette, I am definitely a 64 and below GM guy.

It's absolutely my cup of tea. I learned to drive in a '66 Chevelle in the same color, (stepdad's car), it drove really well. In fact, I'd like to have a mint 1935 Ford V-8 to drive and a '50s Cadillac. If they were "modernized", they would be ruined in my book. I have modern cars to drive everyday with Apple CarPlay, adaptive cruise, etc.

I hate new cars, with a few exceptions.
