Getting old. Aches and pains from doing basically nothing.
Yesterday was trash day. I carried two garbage bags to the curb. Both were relatively light so shouldn’t have been a big deal. I opened the bin with my right hand then swung the bags up into the bin with my left. That action caused a pain between the bones in my left hand. It felt like a nerve got smashed between my ring and middle fingers. Holy crap it hurt like a mutha. It doesn’t look swollen but my hand is stiff and takes effort to open completely. What the hell!

At least you know you did something to injure yourself. Most of us end up hurt and have no idea what we did!
|
When do we get to complain about getting up 3 times at night to pee?
|
Doing nothing is the worst thing for you.
Several times I have had an issue. After weeks of rest issue remained. Finally just pushed through the pain and it went away. Stretching /yoga is crucial for us old people, but critical for you ancients. |
i am so sore right now.
i kayaked fished yesterday. 2 hours to drive each direction didnt help matters. hauling my kayak to the water is about 75 yards. coming back, same 75 yards, but i carried a bag loaded with fish. went back to get kayak. load, clean. 2 hour drive home. unload and CLEAN everything. i cant stand the smell of rotting sea water. i soap down my kayak! anal, i know. then i set up my fish clean station. 1 hour of fish butchery, and my table is too low!! i think this is why i am sore!! bending over! i think i am better off doing it on my knees. i feel asleep at 7 feeling the motion of the ocean in my bed. i am walking like i got violated. |
Or you just wake up with aches and pains.

Some days I hurt all over. Just part of getting old. My ankles hurt so my balance gets off and
I have tripped and landed on the ground. And when you bruise, you don't know how you did it. The good news is that at 5 am every morning, I urinate. At 6 am I have a good bowel movement. The only problem with that is that I can't get out of bed until 7 am. |
^ Yes, I'd love to know ages when age related comments arise.
Of course, people older than you don't really want to tell you what's coming next. It's schadenfreude, as we see the latest complaint surface! :) |

I'm in the process of changing the O2 sensors in my 2001 Range Rover. Easily accessible, but the front ones north of the Cats are a bit stuck. I'm sure they've been in there since 2001.
Last Saturday, I was able to get one out but it was tough sledding. Back and forth with the extra long wrench, heat, and PB Blaster. Now I need to chase the threads. Long story short: It's now Thursday and I'm still sore in my upper back, shoulders, and arms. AND I still to take out the other one. Back two are already done. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1760640383.jpg |

too much playing games of 5 on 1! |
I’m half dead at 53. 4 years ago I pulled something in my shoulder starting a dead lawn mower. One pull and fell to my knees in agony. Couldn’t sleep on that side for a year. Finally going to ortho tomorrow morning. I guess I waited a while. Luckily I have this appointment because a few weeks ago I got on the floor on my knees to change some guitar strings like I’ve done for 40 years and felt something tear in my knee…felt like tearing apart Velcro. Doesn’t seem to be healing. The list goes on and on. Severe back pain always for years. Feel like my life force is fading to be honest. I’ll say this for anyone thinking about doing the same…quitting smoking and drinking did zero. Nothing. Live it up.
