New Arby's Steak Nuggets

Picked up a nine piece steak nuggets for lunch today. Not sure what cut of beef it is, but it's tender and tasty. Two bite sized and comes with choice of sauce.
Lady at the window rattled off about a dozen choices....I took BBQ

$9 for a nine pack...they come in a six size also.
I thought they were good for a fast food change. They just started offering them this week.

I knew immediately upon seeing the thread title that you'd started it.

It's impressive that you stay so thin while eating fast food so frequently.

I'm not a snob, I can/do/will eat fastfood, but I don't do it much.

I can't remember the last time that I had anything from Arby's, but it could have been about 1989 or 1990. From what I remember their food was good. I liked the curly fries, and they were just about the only folks that had them. And who doesn't love a sandwich full of thinly sliced meat.

^^^ I really don't eat fast food that often...maybe once or twice a month.
The last, and almost only Arby's I've had was their fish sandwich....theirs is very good.

I do like to try new things at fast food places.... in case it's really good. (I wouldn't put these nuggets quite in that category)

^^^ Take an Arby's Reuben home, put butter on both sides of the bread and toast it. It's not a bad Reuben. They just don't toast a Reuben the way I think one should be toasted.

I've never had one of theirs, but I do like a good Reuben.

My go to on a menu is a Reuben if the place has one. If I want a quick Reuben without breaking out the ingredients, I'll grab one at Arby's and toast it. They aren't great but they're better than some I've gotten at bars.

The BIG question is: Did you order the Potato Cakes?

No...I don't think I've ever had them. Are they good?
About the only thing I get there is the Fish Sandwich....and I think that is seasonal.

They are awesome!

Other thoughts: IMO, the Arbys reuben is a decent fake reuben but no where near the real thing done right. I guess its hard to enjoy fast food imitations when you've had a NYC deli reuben.

^^^ I'll try them next time I go there.
I was just now looking at their menu....no fish sandwich listed. Maybe I'm the only one that likes them. They are so much better than a Filet O Fish at McD's.

One of the nice things about living near "civilization" again is that we have access to small local restaurants. It's ironic to me that the available restaurants when we were living out in the sticks were almost all chain stores - McD's, Arbys, Burger King, etc. Now we have half a dozen good local restaurants in addition to a greasy spoon or two.

Also it might be that arby’s has more quality variation than most, or the quality is regional? Last time i went to arbys was the early 2000 and we had to throw it all in the trash.

Arbys now serving deep fried pieces of random meat? Maybe want to test it first for flourines and hyrdocarbons. I honestly thought their francises were just real estate holding companies and no-one actually eats there.

Maybe its the raw material prices? When my son was in new mexico he was getting gorgeous steaks at the grocery store for 1/5 of the prices around here.

When they had the two for 5.99 fish sandwich deal it was hard to pass up.

I always hated driving around looking for that indigent person to give my second sandwich to, though.

Arby's used to have a breakfast menu with eggs cooked to order, not in a warmer. It was good and cheap. They had a sign that said they were Arby's/Green Burrito, same corporate owner. I ate there a lot only for the breakfast if I was working nearby. Then the Green Burrito part went away.

Next time, pay for the two and ask for one now and a voucher for the second one later on.

^^^ I've eaten both...and I can assure you that my nine piece steak nuggets was not raccoon.

Raccoon has a much more delicate taste.
