I know I am not young, but its difficult to say out loud that I am old. Especially at work where I am the oldest in the group.

I much prefer the nice guy. he is moving so slow now.. he likes my sourdough.

live well people. my first half of my life..I wouldn't like that person much. my wife changed me.

its just a number...and OP. stop worrying about what other think about you...it is mostly what you think they are thinking about you. 90%, nobody is thinking about you. hahahha..
Took me awhile to realize this….I once was always very concerned with others opinions - today, not in the least. I truly believe happiness is a choice - every minute you spend being angry or sour about some irrelevant thing in life is a minute of happiness wasted. I’m not talking about serious life setbacks of course, that warrant some sadness, but to get legit angry because of some dumb daily life sht? Not even slightly worth it. Life is short, live it for you, not others.

I will say I worked a 20 hour very physical day yesterday into this morning, few hours of sleep then productive morning, but now I'm starting to feel it.

I talked with a friend this afternoon about mobility. He is at least 15 years younger than me but has had knee replacement and back surgery. He's just glad to be able to drive his 996Turbo and his Mazdaspeed Miata again.

The accumulative aches and pains, the body parts that don't work anymore, and the ones that work more slowly and hurt all the time, finally reached critical mass and sucked the last bit of joy out of life. The day I said I don't give a damn anymore about the things I used to enjoy is when I got old.

Most, if not all, of the folks I work around on the daily have no idea how old I am. Turned 61 back in July but feel like 30ish. I think it is mainly due to 22 years in the Army being around younger people all the time.

On the flip side: I'm having a hip replacement in 2 weeks. So I say, 'It's not the years, its the milage'.

The hip is due to a snow skiing wreck in Austria back in 2002. Fell and my left ski did not come off, ended up with knee surgery and a torn labrum in that hip. So at least it is a good story.

Well said. This is exactly what's fueling all the stress young people are dealing with from social media.

I have many old friends who have had knee and hip replacements - some on both sides. It has given them mostly a new lease on life. Luckily I don't see indications I'll need that but if I did, I'd definitely go for it.

I turned 70 last June. Hard to believe I was only 45 when I made my first post on this forum.

66 here. Just can’t fathom where the years went. Feel pretty good save for a few annoyances. Lack the strength and endurance of my youth but still enjoy motorcycling, boating, working (can’t bring myself to retire for fear of letting the old man in), working around the house and listening to music. Wife still seems to care about me and that’s mutual…so there’s that too. Occasionally get a touch of depression but it doesn’t seem to stick. Nothing that a romp on the floor with the dogs won’t fix…or a motorcycle ride.

First grandchild due in February (a boy) and all 3 kids are in solid careers and doing well. My dad (miss him dearly) used to say…”the more I hear about the problems of others, the happier I am with my own”. He was right.

At 60, I can still run circles around a lot of the 20 somethings in my firehouse. But..... I definitely pay for it in the following days. My recovery time is increasing for sure.

I still try to do the same stuff i did n my 20s and 30s. I refuse to age gracefully.

As the Jimmy Buffett song goes... Growing old but not up!

57 here. I guess after the 914 race car I got my 71 911S R Gruppe at about 60.

I was on 3 story scaffolding at 74 humpin' lumber.

I am surprised, flattered I guess. Maybe I'm bragging a bit.

I'm 66 years old and in the last month I've had three women about half my age seriously hit on me. What are they thinking. I want a glass of wine, have my cat sitting on my lap, and watch TV - NOT do bars and nightclubs (maybe bars). All really nice girls so I wouldn't get a leg over them for the weekend and then say I didn't want to see them anymore.
