2026 SS COL Increase

Received an email from SS today stating that the 2.8% Cost of Living Adjustment equals out to an increase of $45.80/month for me....starting in January.

I'll take it....it's better than nothing.

Hopefully they have given up on me.

11Gal? Wow, that's tiny! I don't think I've ever had anything with a tank that small. I'll go check. < edit > I just checked the two vehicles that I've driven that were likely to have the smallest tanks, 1976 Chevy Chevette w/1.4L that was supposed to get 40mpg hwy. It had a 13gal tank. And 1978-1982 Omni/Horizon w/1.7L carbed VW motor. Those also had 13 gal tanks. I was brain storming trying to think of vehicles that would have small tanks, and found 2. The old 1.0L 3-cyl Geo Metro had a fuel tank of either 10.3 or 10.6gal, and the more recent Smart for Two had 8.7gal tanks. So I guess yours isn't the smallest out there, but it's certainly trying hard.

My boxster has a 16.9gal tank. I think the wife's Outback is 17.5-18. I miss the old 23 gal tank in my old '88 targa. I'd love to have a 23gal tank in the Boxster!

^^^ It'll go over 400 miles on that tank. I never let it get that low, but 40 mpg is the usual.

I spent about a third of it today at Meijer
They had a display of 'Dragon's Milk' four new beers. Along with the Toffee Bourbon in the pic, they had 'Coconut Rum', Chocolate Coffee, and Oatmeal Cookie. All are 11% abv

If you ever run across "Eclipse - barrel aged stout" from Fifty Fifty Brewing, buy a bottle (usually around $20/bottle). I haven't had any in 5-6 years, but used to get it frequently. It's good stuff

And generally that’s beating around town…back and forth to the golf course, grocery store, etc in my Civic.

^^^ The surprising part (to me) is if I have my foot in it with the turbo working, the mileage doesn't suffer that much. I think the lowest mileage tank of gas I've had was 38 mpg.
