Gotta be one A hole in a pickup going faster than everyone else weaving thru traffic when EVERYONE was hitting the brakes. First part of video if you missed it. Dude was probably late getting home to the apartment complex

I think he was closing rapidly on a clot of traffic and put it down so not to be in their midst. Too easy to armchair pilot.

I'd be pissed if I was the driver of the Camry.

^^^ Her insurance company won't cover the damages because she didn't have 'airplane' coverage.

I can only surmise he didn’t see the car, otherwise why didn’t he land further to the right?

It was "an act of God" too!

IMNSHO ... that pilot ... endangered a whole bunch of folks, and just got REALLY lucky.

I never did like driving on I-95 ... it's always something .... especially down in Florida

Well the interstates were created so that they could be used as emergency runways...

Divine intervention that no one got hurt.

I-95 and I-10 were designed to send idjuts into Florida and further points south.

Now we just need a wall across the state... but where ?

Imagine you are sitting in the pilot's seat, you are decending to what looks like a clear patch of highway. Your forward velocity is about 60 - 70 mph. Unfortunately that is the speed of the car directly beneath you that you can't see through the floor of your aircraft. The driver of the car doesn't see you either through the roof of her vehicle. Happy landings.

I watched the "landing" repeatedly and I think the pilot was banking for the shoulder as much as he could. I agree about the speed and visibility but before he attempted a flair he had a good view of pending traffic on the road. He just ran out of time and control to place the plane more to the right. They definitely had an "Oh, F..." moment but I'm 100% with the driver to prevail in this and the pilot catching 100% of the consequences.

Nothing is certain yet but all speculation points to running out of fuel, whether in total or failure to monitor and switch tanks. Apparently they were already descended to 1500' when they lost power and 60 seconds later (not much time) they were tangled up against the center divider.

It was mentioned that both occupants of the plane did not attempt to exit right away and just sat in their seats. It would be pure speculation as to why, but of all things I'd like to hear more on that. They were in plain view of the damage they caused and could see the driver getting out from what I know.

This is one I will follow to conclusion. If you watch Blancolirio you know GA planes are dropping at a loose average of one a week. At least half are fatal.

I think they said the plane was in some type of training.

Tough training. Landing an F-18 on an aircraft carrier is tough. Putting a twin down on a Camry on the freeway is much more difficult.

I wonder if Camry Lady had any clue/warning before the plane hit her. There would have been no noise with no engines running....didn't look like he had any landing lights on.

Would be a big surprise to have that happen while driving in sparse traffic.

^^^ True

I hope there is a follow-up statement of what exactly went wrong with the plane.
