Looks like he's finally fed-up
Keith Richards that is. Doesn't want to spent 4 months on the road anymore.
I don't blame him. Sorry about it though. (Me that is) |

I don’t blame him. Been on a long road.
He started out before the Romans invented concrete. |

At 82, it's really not surprising. End of an era though...I'd read that it was always Keith who pushed to get back on the road. Playing with the 'Stones is/was his life.

I'm 82...and understand completely. It's amazing the Stones kept touring as long as they did..

I'm sure he's just gotten to the point where the juice and the squeeze don't match up anymore.
I'm just glad I got to see and hear him play live!

At some point in the next 100 years, he’s going to get bored or run out of cash and do another tour!

I saw them in Seattle in 1980 and thought they were over the hill even then. I mean, from a 20 year old's perspective, what band is still relevant where the members are all approaching 40? I was there to see the opening band, The Clash, and only stuck around for the Stones because my girlfriend wanted to. And now, 45 years later... Unbelievable...

He will likely just become another X-Pensive Wino playing somewhere unannounced ... and I would love to hear about it

He will remind me of when I went to the Checkerboard Lounge in Chicago and saw John Lee Hooker. But his handlers had to help him out, and then sat him on a nice comfy stool to play...

I saw him and the rest on the Lonesome and Blue tour in Dallas. One of the best shows I ever saw. I my tinnitus will tell you I have seen many. Happy retirement Keef! You earned it.

Many of the great bluesmen end up entertaining their fans sitting on a stool.
Last time I saw BB King he did his show on a stool and he was fantastic. Still had that big voice and Lucille never dropped a note. The horns were as tight as a tick in a woodpile. A fantastic evening. Johnny Winter at the Crossroads concert a few years ago did his set from a chair. Brought the place down! Just to name a couple.

We saw the stones here in Atlanta during the Hackney Diamond tour. I think it was 2 years ago. Amazing energy that Mick has - he was dancing/running back and forth on stage and only took 1 break mid-concert and Keith did a solo.

Saw the Stones at the Georgia Tech stadium about 1990. Great seats and show. Always wanted to see them again, but the Hackney Diamond tour was too expensive.
