Reminds me of the winter camp outs that we had as Boy Scouts in the 60's.
Snow is a great insulator when used around a tent.

I remember one winter camp out where we ate our quarter chickens mostly raw....the wind was too strong.
They still tasted good.

My favorite snow hack was to keep spare wool socks hanging inside my pants over my thighs that had constant goose bumps. The little things all add up.

When I learned about hauling hay bales (the roll kind) when visiting my grandmother way back when, you could put your glove over the tractor exhaust till it steamed and it'd be nice and toasty for the run down to the drop site.
It didn't help my rep when it started to snow and I didn't recognize it as snow. I thought some tree had bloomed and was dropping flower petals.

The best way is to stay out of that part of the world in winter!

It is 75 here right now. I had to use the AC in my El Camino on a short errand.

No freezing to death worry here this week.

when i was little, 8-9, we'd go out into the woods and build forts. basically this. sometimes if the snow was right we'd make half assed igloos. not that hard once you know how.

best trick is having a couple dogs to snuggle with for warmth.

VERY cool video, but I am looking for his Donner Party follow up video.

At my point in life, and after seeing the smoke soot on his face, I'm going to stay at a holiday inn express!
