Always been excited by the "concept" or "theory" of the modern corvette. And the grand sport is the pick of the litter in my book. Good power, good deal.. But less so by the execution. I think C6 was the high point in looks for me, maybe one day to try... I never took to the C7/C8, with either the weird a$$ trumpets (the 4 exhaust pipes together) or the mid engine "X-acto" look which tried too hard.

The corvette is like the 240Z for me, and I mean zero disrespect by that, they are cars I SHOULD lust after by all rights (in terms of features, sound, price), but I do not, can't get into them.

My pops is a vette guy, had an 01 Z06, now has a 2012 Z06 100 year GM special addition, quite rare. We were talking about vettes at Thanksgiving because my uncle just got a 2023 model and pops was butt hurt when he said "it will eventually go to me" and I stated I had no interest what's so ever....

Never have, or will be a vette guy...

As an American, I am happy to see Corvette doing great. A quantum leap from the 1980s C4 Corvette.

My 911 is a quantum leap behind the new 911s, but my 911 is desirable and no one wants a stock 80s Vette.

It is also cool to see Cadillac entering F1.

Pretty much what I expected in responses...but...me being older than dirt...I still think the C-2 was the best looking 'Vette.

Not my jam, but I'm happy that Chevy is having success with the C8 and can offer it in configurations from mild to wild to suit all kinds of needs. I agree that this one is definitely the one for the white New Balance crowd, but that's ok. That's a segment that Chevy has been catering to for decades and they might as well satisfy that itch.
