Looks like lots of people got hosed on paper silver...
How do the elites get away with this crap?
Now experts are saying all the commodities are going to go nuts.

rsrguy 12-29-2025 06:27 AM

What's going to happen now that China isn't exporting?

With precious metals, the only thing that is certain is uncertainty. We know that the printing presses are running hot and inflation will continue higher than 3%. We need to be in asset classes, not dollars at a bank or under the mattress. Broad market stocks and Real Estate may wobble a bit as interest rates fluctuate but are a good long term store of value that rises with the economy ahead of inflation. Gold and silver look oversold to me right now but I have been wrong before. They might continue on this meteoric rise but... they might not.

The last thing I listen to is "hot tips from experts" who just happen to hold a lot of gold and silver. They have a very personal interest in a future rise and their opinions are compromised. A classic pump and dump setup. We saw this exact scenario in 1980 when gold went from $900-$600 oz and stayed dead flat for 25 years as RE and the S&P 500 soared. It was not my best hedge against inflation.

Anyone have a link to buyers? I just checked APMEX and they're offering to buy silver at $58/ounce

Crowbob 01-04-2026 01:43 AM

My wife took her sterling silverware to a local jewelry shop last week. We probably used it twice in 55 years of marriage. They gave her $750 for five place settings. She said I should get a new golf club with the money!

^^^^ Where to put yer windfall... you can now buy .08 of a Bitcoin :D!

Cajundaddy knows stuff ....

That I have ignored ... sometimes ... for the good ... sometimes for the bad too :(.

I had bars of silver years ago (gold coins too) that I sold for a land purchase (that hasn't quite worked out like I planned, or hoped for).

That land has NOT been a $ound investment :(.

Easy come .... easy go ...

Gold, Silver, Stocks, etc. .... brain cells too :D.

No real regerts tho' .... I would do it again ;)

What are you selling? Surely they didn't offer 58 for bullion. Even junk is valued at 65 bucks at the moment.

1 ounce bars . I wasn't too surprised as I bought the bars from APMEX so I figured they'd undercut me.

^ local pawn shops tend to be good buyers for a few bars...

gregpark 01-05-2026 02:48 AM

And you're selling because silver has reached its top? I seriously doubt it. If you are not in need of the cash why not wait a couple of months? Silver appreciated 150% in the last year and could double again or more this year, more likely sooner than later.

It has doubled in price since I bought it so yeah I was going to grab some profit.

I once had a few 100oz bars purchased at around 17/oz ... watched it go to 51, then had fallen back to 33ish when I sold (traded it for land). I would still have it ... but I wanted the land more ;).

Buy Bitcoins with it :D!

Hope you didn't cash in those bars. Silver's gone up about 7 bucks an ounce today.
And it's just getting started

Silver is in an interesting spot. COMEX changed the rules on how its traded last week after a bull run resulting in the price north of $80/oz, then supposedly received a 17B bail out over the weekend. As stated, bailouts of finite physical commodities with fiat currency is not sustainable.

throughout history, minerals were incredibly cheap before industrial uses were determined. What was the value of palladium and platinum before industrial uses were devised? Silver is going into all tech industries; battery, military electronic application, data center, etc. I would not be surprised if the metal reaches $1,000/oz.

I dont claim to know anymore than just guessing but previous run-ups have looked pretty "peaky". Maybe this time is different or we are only halfway up the peak.

At 80$ i am tempted to offload some though. My main interest is historic gold coins more as a collector than an investor. When gold was 1500 and silver was 15$, I would routinly buy a bit of silver here and there because it seemed almost free. If you are ordering a small expensive gold coin might as well throw in some silver for fun and mass.

Always wanted a gold vacheron watch. I am tempted to offload some silver to finance most or part of one. Probably wont though. Too much like work and I think LCS are paying way back of spot in this run up.

2 major spikes in 2 days. I predict a pullback but only temporary. Don't let the banks shake you out, they've lost control and are freaking out, the squeeze is on. This is very different from 1980 or 2011. This is unprecedented territory, a generational opportunity. I wish my grandfather had loaded up on IBM, my grandkids will be glad I loaded up on silver

Not yet. I haven't found a buyer offering a price that I like.

gregpark 01-06-2026 05:02 PM

Hang on to it for a bit. The big exchanges are running out fast and when that happens you'll get a lot more than you think. Silver is rapidly climbing, it's $82+ at the moment (up 10 bucks from yesterday) but this is just the beginning. It's still underpriced
