Do you do the Wordle?

I do, every day. I tell myself it's not a waste of time - it's good for my cognitive health. Maybe.

Last Saturday, for the first time, I failed to get the word. It was one of those for which there are too many possible solutions, and I ran out of guesses. Damn!

My strategy is to start with AUDIO (because it has four vowels), and then try to find a word with an E or T in it. Do you have a strategy?

This is the one I failed at. The word was BATCH.

Every morning with Coffee, I do the wordle, crossword, spelling bee and pips.

EDIT: Audio is my start word also…

I do a cryptogram or two to wake my brain up before I do the Wordle. I've never hear of "spelling bee" as a game, or "Pips."
I've started writing in cursive for a few minutes in the morning, too. That's another attempt at maintaining my cognitive health.

They are all part of the NYT games app I have on my ipad…there are a couple of others too. Mini crosswords, the full crossword, and they have all of the old games archived. Cursive is a good one, I should do that. My writing has always been barely legible to anyone but me, and I barely write anymore so I don’t think it’s gotten better.

Yes. First thing in the morning.
First word is TASER,
(My original first word was STARE; That was a good day when it was the answer! Wordle in 1!)
If no letters in TASER move the puzzle forward, then, CLOUD.

The hope for me is to get the answer in 4 twice as many times as the answer in 5. Unfortunately I had a run of 5 for a few days recently and it just wiped out my stats. But I usually get it in 3 or 4.

One of my son in laws and I text each other with wordle, mini crossword and connections every day for a few years now. Hate the ones like _ATCH, where there’s 27 possibilities…then strategy is out the window.

hmmm....i use LATER. Maybe will mix it up.

Of course the day i switch to AUDIO the word will be LATER.

Started also doing chess.com. If nothing else i'm starting to recognize this lazy thinking mode i fall into at times.

We’ve been starting our day with Wordle for years now. My current first word is ALIEN and second word SCOUT. They cover all vowels and some popular letters in two rows.

My daughter and I do these together. We used to start with BEACH but she switched to AUDIO recently.

We nearly always get them.

My daughter and I are rather competitive with each other. It's become a good way to at least touch base once per day. The GIF's that she shares can be brutal though. This one was pretty good after she kicked my butt a few weeks back.

I tried it. I guess I’m too old. I don’t recognize a single one. I may as well be trying to solve Wordles written in Aromanian. If it was 50’s and 60’s cars I might have a chance. Newer cars all look the same to me.

Every evening my wife and I play the following games:

Quordle https://www.merriam-webster.com/games/quordle/#/
Worldle https://worldle.teuteuf.fr/
Globle https://globle-game.com/
Wordle https://www.nytimes.com/games/wordle/index.html
Octordle https://www.britannica.com/games/octordle/daily-sequence
Connections https://www.nytimes.com/games/connections

Connections is my favorite

My wife and I are currently on a streak where we both won all of the games three nights in a row.

My strategy for Wordle and the other word games is to enter the following words every time and then solve the puzzle:

Savor
Fight
Bendy
Clump

Me and the kids away at school play and share every day.

We commonly use salet and courd as starters. Don’t ask me, but between us our average is 4 overall.

Same.. I read a story on this and they used a computer to pick the best opening word with all of the 5 letter word possibilities and it said ADIEU is the best choice.
