250th anniversary of the USA
Where are you going to celebrate?
Where were you 50 years ago in 1976, are you going back there? Half the people I was with in 76 lost the battle to survive, very sad.

In 1976, buddy John Gilson and I drove our P-cars from Oregon to Aspen, Colorado for a Rocky Mtn. Region event held at Woody Creek "Raceway". Yes, people from then are vanishing...John died some years back..heart.

I don't know that I'll "go" anywhere to celebrate...but we'll see.
I was a fetus for most of '76; wasn't popped out till early '77

Back in 76 I still lived in Alabama. Maxwell AFB had a big air show and fireworks. Lots of flags flying.
It was cool to see the insides of a C5 and C-130. A C-130 did the rocket assisted take off.

I can't remember doing anything special on July 4, 1976
Most likely this year will be no different for that day.

I had finished 3rd grade in Haddam, CT and as one of the 13 colonies, the parade and festivities were huge for our tiny little town.
Boston being the Birthplace of America, I will be going to Arlington National Park and Boston for any and all festivities on April 19th and July 4th I try to go to Arlington every Independence Day, it is extremely moving. I've been subcribed to this channel for 2 years now. She does nice work, gotta love the accent.

Wishing the United States of America a happy and peaceful 250th.
50 years ago I was getting ready to get married in September. We're wondering if we're going to do anything special to celebrate.

Michigan just unveiled their new license plates for the 250th today....They look very similar to the 200th.

I just looked up 250 MA plates, they are OK, wouldn't mind getting one just to have it.

I was a junior in high school, in Westport CT. I was on the football team and remember being jealous of the seniors, as we won the state championship and it was the 200th anniversary. It seemed like a great time for our country then.🇺🇸
This year… I’m not sure what we are doing. |

We were living in Valparaiso, Florida in 1976. I remember we had a ski boat and took it out that evening and watched fireworks from the waters of Boggy Bayou right offshore from Lincoln Park. Good times!!! Not really planning anything special but I would Love to be driving my TR by then as it will have turned 50 this year.

July 4, 1776 was the first time I saw fireworks. I was 6 years old and we drove to the nearest "big city" for the celebration. There was no place to park. We parked a long way away from the park that was hosting the show and we managed to walk in, spread a blanket, and sit down just in time to catch the last few minutes of the show...
Not sure what I'll do this year. |

In 1976 I was riding in the back of the 356 ... comfortably. Plenty of leg room for a 5 year old back there.

I was 16 watching the annual fireworks show on the "Country Club's" golf course, with Frampton Comes Alive blasting from the Pioneer 8-track Supertuner in my dad's '70 Cougar... and I might have had a Miller 7oz pony bottle or two ... max!
Welp... this year .... I'll prolly just drive by the golf course that morning

Thank you.
I don’t know what the options for celebrating are yet. If it’s as over-hyped as so many events are I may visit Canada. In 1976 I was working full time and finishing my engineering degree. I was too busy to know what year it was.
