highest milage car you have owned without major overhaul

What's the highest mileage on a vehicle you have owned without a major Overhaul?

I have had quite a few way over a 100K, but this 2017 Civic hatchback 1.5 Turbo with its CVT, wins!
This has been ours since new, now (drum roll) with 260K !
I am getting paranoid!
Not even a valve adjustment.
Lots of engine and transmission oil changes!
I bought the special tools for it, but thus far it has not started clattering.

Your turn-

My '02 Honda Accord V-6 EX-L had 153k on it when I traded it in. Great car, but the trans was leaking from all the gaskets between the case joints and my wife was worried it would take a total dump on us. Trans shifted like new though and we had an indy mech offer to buy it from us when we had the brakes checked at 150k miles. He thought we'd had the trans rebuilt. Only trans fluid change was at 105k miles. The owner's manual didn't say a thing about changing it sooner. I know because I read it when I bought the car new. Got it with only 1.5 miles showing on the odo.
I'm surprised your CVT has lasted that long @afterburn 549.

1992 BMW 325i. Sold it when it had 325k on the clock and was still running strong. Engine never opened and last couple of oil changes went way past due as it had become my beater daily driver and I didn't care. It always just had cheap conventional oil.

I still have a 2003 BMW 330i with around 250k on the clock but it is in storage for now. My current daily driver 2008 base Cayenne has 240k and has never had the engine opened.

My dad put 500k on a Honda Accord some years ago until he wrecked it.

275k on my ‘91 Maxima SE MT5. Was still the original clutch when I sold it to a work colleague.

My El Camino when 300,000 miles on the original 305. It was starting to smoke a bit and stunk up the garage when leaving. When I disassembled it just to see how worn it was it looked pretty good. The valve guides were worn and the valve seals were like rocks.

The cam was fine. Just doing any machine work on a 305 was more expensive the just buying a brand new 350 that just dropped right in, and the water pump, starter, alternator and AC compressor all just swapped over. $1,700 for the brand new 350 was just too good of a deal. And it came with a 2 year 24,000 mile warranty. It has 90,000 miles on that engine.

My 1984 BMW 533I had 734,436km or 456,000 miles on it, only needed to rebuild the cylinder head at about 550,000km to pass emission testing.

225k on an 04 Subaru Outback Sport without opening the engine. Never even a timing belt or clutch. Put it up for sale. Guy asked about timing belt and I told him I never replaced it. He shrugged and said, "it's a quick, easy job" and bought the car.

Highest I had was my 1989 Ford van with the old cast iron six. 267K on it when I sold it. Compression was fine, no oil usage. I don't know how many more miles I could have gotten our of it.

Tis funny,
the Nate guy on YouTube says most BMW needs rod bearings by 120K.
Coolant hoses all replaced, which is a major PIA (he says) etc etc .
Some need new timing chains.
I am glad you guys are trespassing the mileage numbers!

Just checked, my '10 Cayenne GTS has 170,666 on it. It is the ultimate, "if you could only have one car" vehicle in all of automotive history. I'm sure a Turbo kicks it up one notch higher.

1980 MB 240D with 408,000 miles sold to buy the Jetta
2000 VW Jetta TDI with 314,000 miles - totaled in a Head on but was sold and the engine lived on
2017 Subaru BRZ - 225,000 ish miles and still going strong

The MB was passed to me when I was 16 by my father (he bought a new MB) - the other two where purchased new. All have had manual transmissions

'71 Land Cruiser. I upgraded from its 1F engine with non-rotating valves and only partial oil filtration to the later 2F engine with rotating valves and full filtration at 275,000 miles. I later sold it to a buddy at work when it had darn near 500k on it. Beyond the engine swap, no more than fluids, brakes, tires, and clutches.

As far as motorcycles, a 2000 Road King that got totaled at about 120k. Same thing, no more than fluids, brakes, and tires. Never needed a clutch.

My 99 Toyota Tacoma 3.4 liter had 455,000 miles on it when it developed a check engine light that was a short in the wiring harness. Decided to move on and sold it for $2500.

About 410,000km on a '93 VW Passat turbo diesel. Regular service intervals. Needed an alternator around 280k and a fuel injection pump around 380k. I traded it for an '06 Jetta tdi and used to see it around for a couple more years.

I traded in my 2010 Honda Fit three years ago with 260K miles on it. The gal who bought it is still driving it and she said it's almost 300K now.
No engine work has been done....doesn't burn or use oil.
The Honda 1.5 liter engine is a workhorse.

I had a 1982 Toyota truck before they were called Tacoma. The thing kept running at over 275k miles. I gave it to my nephew who then gave it to a landscaper in exchange for some yard work.

2004 Dodge Durango Hemi. Wife purchased new. 350,000+ when we got rid of it and still running great. Towed many cars and travel trailers all over the US with it. Never did a tune up, original spark plugs, original everything. Never needed any suspension-related work. We had only 2 problems with it: a broken exhaust manifold stud and the A/C compressor crapped out at 340,000. It was a workhorse.

2007 Chevy 2500HD Duramax 437K miles when I gave it to my Grandson in law
He's still using it occasionally Most of those miles were with a 40' Featherlite behind it
At 400k it would still hit the speed limiter going uphill with that trailer on it fully freighted at 24k lbs
Never let me down one time. Loved that truck! should have bought 2 and put one away
