Do you ever crave meat?
I just woke up after a hour in bed. I remembered there was some Polish sausage in the ‘fridge. I couldn’t stop thinking about it.
This stuff is, objectively, disgusting - ground up random animal parts in a sleeve of even more animal parts. But I wanted some. I have a friend who is a vegetarian. I don’t know how or why he does it. My brother went animal-free for a year, but that’s him. He decided not to eat meat for a year just to challenge himself. If he decided to sleep on a bed of nails for a year I believe he would do it. But that’s different. I think. I don’t know why I occasionally simply CRAVE meat. But I do.

I was vegan for a while. I craved eggs. Meat? No biggie. (I had some nice pork for dinner!)

Yup and pizza and White Castle breakfast sandwiches!
I usually wish I hadn’t eaten any of them afterwards though.

That’s me. I get something in my head, and I have to eat it.
I remember coming home for lunch, looking forward to having leftover pizza, and Ms. Rocket had thrown it in the trashcan. I wanted to cry. |

Oh Damn. Happens to me too. That’s grounds for divorce- or at least a day of severe pouting.

Nope, never craved meat. Didn't like it even when I was a kid but that's what mom made so I ate it. Then in 1974 at 20 years old I thought I'm am adult now, I can eat what I want. The last time I ate mammal was 1974. I still eat sea food and occasionally a bit of fowl

I'm happy to eat meat. I've eaten a lot of meat of various kinds over the last 55 years. When I was growing up, we did a lot of grilling, mostly steaks and hamburgers, but also chicken, sausage, ribs (beef and pork), etc....
But, we don't eat that much meat. We have some chili made right now. I don't grill steaks or hamburgers/hotdogs very often which is surprising to me. But sometimes I do get a craving for some item or another.

Yes, in fact, I was wanting a hamburger today and my daughter surprised me with dinner from a restaurant called Amsterdam Cafe. She got me a big ol bacon cheeseburger and fries and a side of ranch dressing!!! Man it was good!!!

My wife made some Angus beef burgers for dinner last night , they were incredible . Some pepper and some steak sauce made it the perfect meal . We mostly eat chicken/fish/pork but occasionally have to have some beef . You only live once

Sometimes I get this vision of a standing rib roast surrounded by roast potatoes, then I wake up and get my shredded wheat..

Many times while doing essentials grocery shopping, a piece of meat catches my eye and lots of neurons fire and I create a small dinner party. Rack of pork a week ago, better than expected with overnight marinade and low and slow for 3 hours and burst of 450F to finish. Microsliced potatoes baked in a bath of heavy cream, garlic & nutmeg, finished with gruyere was the perfect complement.
Found a 2 lb ribeye two days ago sitting in the fridge now. So yes. ![]() ![]() ![]()
