Make Bruins Great Again
|
Does anyone else still watch NHL hockey?
I am still in mourning over losing Marchand to the Panthers but I am happy for him.
The Eastern Conference looks like bumper to bumper rush hour on the Long Island Expressway. It is so close that almost any team can make the playoffs if they have a run of a 2 pt wins. Today was an epic game for Boston. All kinds of records smashed - playing an orginal 6 rival of 100 years: the much despised NY Rangers - 10 - 2 final score (wanna guess who had the 10? )- the B's had TWO players get a hat trick AND both of them for the 1st time in their NHL career. (the last time that happened on any time was 2008-2009) - the last time two Bruins players score a hatty in one game was 1964 - Pasta got 6 assists in one game - a new team record AND only the 2nd time he got more than 4 in one game and has never had more than 5 in one game until today (and he always racks up a bunch of assists each year) - what a great day to be a Bruins fan! Now back to reality-the B's have a tough 2nd half of the season ahead of them with the odds of them making the playoffs not very pretty

Have hope.
The B's spanked the Canuks recently and in the last two months the Avs have lost what should have been the easiest 2 points: December: 6-3 lost to NY Isles 4-3 lost to the Preds Barely beat the NY Rangers in OT 3-2 January: 2-1 lost to Panthers (not playing well this year)

Heh. The Flyers Anaheim game this week was epic given the hate between the teams.
I love Philly, the FU Carter chant was epic.

All out War in 1st and 2nd round. Usually drops off as you go because of injury/fatigue.
They really need to change playoff format back to the old way regardless of travel. A few very good teams bounced each year because of seeding and who’s in their division. It’s not fair. 1-8, 2-7, 3-6, 4-5. East and west final. I’d be happy. Or even better 1-16, 2-15 3-14……. Then potentially you could have a Panthers /Lightning final! |

If Shoresy counts, I'm in. Otherwise, not so much. And sorry, the former is only Senior Whalesiht Hockey, not NHL.

The games start being "like a playoff game" in March but with the Olympics taking out almost a month in February some teams are already playing for their lives now.
I always look forward to two Original Six teams playing or, a sibling rivalry like the Pens & Flyers or the Lightning and the Panthers, and lest we forget some of the "love" shared between to teams in Canada like "the battle of Ontario". Those are good any time.

My first nhl game had the Dominator shut out my Leafs at MLG 3-0. Also saw the Bruins play Sabres once and was fortunate get to see Chara play. They thumped them - Robin Lehner (sp) pulled and he lost his $hite on bench after being yanked. GLG! |

The "Canuckleheads" are in total free-fall or 'tank' mode at the moment. Whether by design or the fact they are well below being a .500 team; their better players spend a awful lot of time on the IR list. Our once vaunted 11 million dollar centre has apparently, or appears to have forgotten how to play hockey after signing that big contract. Our once 'world-class' goal tender is made of glass - spectacular at times between numerous trips to the infirmary.
I guess we're going to have to settle for some luck in the draft lottery - gonna be a looong season! Take care guys & Cheers JB

I watched a few minutes of some 8-year-olds playing a scrimmage. It was fun, especially when they simultaneously dropped gloves.

Critical game tonight for the Bruins hosting the Wings. The B's need this 4 point game to get into a wild card spot. Both teams are on a win streak.

4 teams in that division will be battling for points until one caves. Then another. Need winning streaks
