What is a good low sodium hydrating drink?
Did a search here and found 3 very old threads. I need a powder to spice up water so my wife will stay hydrated. I drink plain ol' water all day.
The choice should be low sodium since this is not exercise related. So "aid" drinks are out. Really don't need a huge amount of electrolytes either as constantly loading up on those can be less than ideal. No sugar, of course. She's been drinking Pedialyte but I'm looking around to see what else might be on the table.

Will she drink sparkling water? Lots of choices without sugar or salt or really anything else except the flavor and carbonation.

RW, never thought about it. But that doesn't meet the powder requirement. Wondering about coconut water too, but I suppose that can be a powder. I'll have to look.
(edit) The coconut drink is available in powder and that might be something to consider. Thanks.

I put a splash of punch or juice in the water to take the nasty taste out. Need electrolytes? Potassium and magnesium is all you need. Get them at wallyworld. Do a search concerning magnesium since some formulas have a really poor absorption rate.

Yes, I drink coconut water whenever it's hot or I'm working in the heat. The dogs go nuts over the stuff as it contains potassium that they like. I've just looked at the back of the tetra Pak of the UFC brand I drink and it says 4.6% sugar. So that's pretty low.

I drink Buble, or the Walmart knock-off. I think tap water tastes funny.

You might have guessed at the purpose/point of this thread and its inference that she does not favor water.

I use the electrolyte mixes like Liquid IV "sugar free" but I dilute them waay past the recommended.
I think for one packet that suggests 16oz of water I use about maybe 48 oz of water. Maybe that would get the numbers in a range you find acceptable and still be tasty!
