Not sure how SM saturation breeds short attention span. I guess it depends on what you will allow to indulge in. 80% of it I won't put up with so I just move forward. It's been said many times that PPOT is pretty high quality compared to a lot of time wasting crap. You can waste time here too, but at least you're wasting time at a better level.

Also I find that if you have a hobby, joining a forum can be beneficial (if you stay out of their OT forum). I have run through at least a dozen as I pursue this and that.

Wait, that's a short attention span.

Short form video trains you to have no attention span. After 30s you are looking at something different. A few months of that and you start to think it’s the norm and start losing focus on anything longer.

I used to spend hours on Pelican each day ... my attention span is now down to just a few minutes per day.

I have detox'd thousands of times ... "cold turkey". It's easy peasy .....

Good Luck!

See ya soon

This is good.

6 months ago I took my Smart Phone to the Ball Peen Hammer.
I use a simple flip phone now. I kept going down rabbit holes and a lot of doom scrolling.

My wife and I share a home computer. She is on it a lot because of her business. That keeps my
time limited. E-Mail, some news sites. I read the WSJ and NYT's paper in the morning. Feel better now.

So, watch a movie now & then? From the "shorts" thread here, I can sure see how the format can become addictive..
