"The wind is very windy!"

Yeah Brick Tamland said it the best. It was CRAZY windy yesterday.
I was driving back from PA yesterday. Got a high wind warning form my route from Maps. That was an UNDERSTATEMENT.

I chose to drive I70 back since that would put me nose to the wind. Glad I did that! 70 was okay. But once I picked up 33 out of Cbus, things got crazy. Just outside of Dublin OH there were two trucks on their side. I got around Bellefontaine OH and watch the left side tandems on the trailer in from of me come off the ground. Never saw that before! Could do without seeing it again. Just past Indian Lake they had part of 2 lane 33 blocked off. Yep! another truck on its side. Wild... Wild Wind... The wind was very windy.

I drove from Boise to Wichita earlier this year, the stretch from east of SLC to Laramie was probably the craziest straight line sustained winds I’ve ever encountered. Stopping for gas and it was a challenge to stay upright. Same deal, semis on their sides and or rocking ominously when I passed. Many of them gave up and pulled over for the day. That was 60-70 sustained, pretty bad even for a guy from KS.

My next door neighbor, who has been gone for a few days, has a new 12X12 ft. steel legged Pergola with a canvas top on her deck.

Now, it's not on her deck. It's upside down in the middle of her yard with the canvas top ripped off. The wind managed to get it off her deck and over the railing. It looks like it rolled right over her two 4X4 bikes.

I couldn't see any damage to her house or windows....she won't be happy on return.
55 mph wind gusts in my area.

Got to use my smart panel and backup battery yesterday. Power was only out for about 2 hours of darkness.

Thursday we had over 80 MPH gust in the front range here in CO. Had a roof tile get pulled up off the ridge and take out three more tiles on its way down the roof. Lot of trees down, but none in our yard at least.

Umm, where I live people makes jokes about how windy it is, but the place really lived up to it's reputation a month ago. The windiest gust was 118mph. And living at the beach all the plants got fair fried with the salt water.

I wasn't too concerned as we have had worse, but it trashed a couple of gates and blew in a roller garage door.
