MagicErasers work like magic!

Foggy, streaked, or just dirty interior windshields have always been hard to clean for me.
A while back I started using the Mr. Clean MagicErasers. They are sold as a sponge shaped like a bar of soap, or a box of 16 postcard size sheets. I prefer the sheets because it's easier and they go further.

Wet the Eraser, scrub, wipe it off. Then apply cleaner such as Invisible Glass for the finish. Also, use micro-fiber towels for everything. Do the same for the exterior glass.

My car windows, after doing inside and outside have never looked better.

I like them a lot.

Never did glass before. I wonder if they would work on a tv screen vs only a microfiber towel? I'm talking out loud to think about a cut-off. Maybe a better question would be could you clean a plexiglass window panel with them without tiny scratches?

^^^ I would be a little worried using them on a tv screen....they have fine grit in them. Plexi-glass window...might scratch easily also.

That YouTube short that I added shows what looks like a guy using it dry....that's no good. Tinted windows shouldn't be attempted either.
I'll add a better one in a few minutes.....I've got Nathan's Onion Rings to eat.

I don't do his first step...wiping with a mf towel. I start with the wet MagicEraser.

Grit is kind of a misleading term. Nothing separates from the eraser that you would identify as grit - I don't think. HOWEVER, you know it's not like a microfiber towel.

It's magic, I guess. :-)

A girl at a Cole Haan show store recommended them for shoes that have a white rubber sole to keep them white, and they're awesome. They work in my shower where I've tried several things like magic, for sure. There is some abrasive in them, but there's chemicals in there that really work well.

^^^ I just ordered from Amazon a package of those diamond weave mf towels. (a pack of 6..16X16 DW MF towels for $13)

I've had one that came with a house window kit.....I use it all the time for those windows.
Just use a wet rag to get the dirt off and then polish the window to dry it with the diamond weave.
Never leaves any streaks or spots.

Should work great for the car windows also.

Diamond weave MF towels came and I already used one on the large slider door/glass.
16X16...Works just like a polishing cloth....happy with them.

Think that Diamond towel will remove haze on the interior of windows?

I normally wipe with a wet towel with Dawn soap to remove any oil residue then follow up with a squeegee. Messy .

I think they work better than a normal MF towel....but I would still use the MagicEraser first. The ME does what the Dawn does, but with no soap to clean up.

Try one sometime...easy to use and cheap. (the MagicEraser)

Also, if you use a Diamond Towel for the initial cleaning...you'll need to run the towel through the wash before using it again for more windows.

No...they need to be activated by water before using. Some videos show the guy rinsing and rinsing the thing...NO. Just dunk it, squeeze out the excess water, and use it.
If it dries out when using, dunk it again.

The video in post 4 is helpful. I don't usually do his first step with the dry towel...maybe I should.

The interior haze will clean pretty well with just a microfiber towel. I wouldn't think the inside of the windows would need the magic eraser unless you spend a lot of time driving with the windows down. I'm assuming the place to use the magic eraser is primarily the windshield that gets lots of crap on it.

^^^ The MagicErasers are meant for mostly interior car glass. The upholstery and plastics give off gases that cause fogging and streaking when cleaning. The ME's have a degreaser built in to take care of it. The degreaser is water activated.

Just look for melamine sponges (generic term) on Amazon or Ebay and avoid the name brand markup.

This is the type of stuff I have used the magic eraser for, (Finger smudges on latex paint)

For a car windshield (and back window) inside (which I fully support but have never tried) I would spritz with windex and get the eraser(s) handle to save yourself from uncomfortable contortion.

You still have to contort with the micro fiber rag to finish but it will be so worth it.

Got it.

What I don't understand is microfiber towels. They don't absorbe anything. I hear people who swear by them but they just seem to move water or whatever liquid from one place to another. Once the water is almost dry, right before it hazes up, then i buff with MF (stands for Mother f@*%er) towel and I have to rub like hell to get it all cleaned or for the towel to absorbe all the dirt particles. I don't have any news paper anymore but that use to work great, its a little abrasive or rough and some Windex works like magic. Interior haze, what's that? Now, I rub and rub and rub (yeah, yeah, yeah, get your mind out of the gutter) and still nothing only it move the grease elsewhere on the interior of the windshield. Maybe my MF, or mother f$*^ing, over price towel is cheap and it doesn't work.
