In Memoriam ...

Saw it in JoeBob's thread, but here it is...

Mike Z and other long time posters who "we know" have passed, they should all be made so...

If I wasn't Banned, I'd go ahead and change mine :D

Can we make a list and have a mod peruse it and make it happen? Tho' ancient thread bot revivals are minimal now... yay!

Whaddaya say?

sc_rufctr 06-11-2026 07:22 AM

That sounds like a good idea.

dlockhart 06-11-2026 07:35 AM

It would be nice. Many of us have been around here a long, long time.
When I search the tech section, I get a smile seeing familiar names in old threads.

.

It would make a good sticky.

Yer good :)!

Methinks a list of 20 or so could be made to magically appear if Marv just asked nicely ;)

And add RouxRoux if he's missing ... just another I do recall ...

Thanks!

I believe the first one I remember being aware of passing was Howard Agency?

Howard was a good guy. I met him at German Autofest when he displayed the transmission fluid hose from the wrecked Ferrari on PCH.

A few others are Dottore, Dueller and Moss Guy.

That's a horrible suggestion ... no thread of Colonel Saunders should be a sticky ... I might be on too many folk's ignore list... someone else start a thread :)

I can't c&p ... there already is a list with a bunch ... paste 'em and then add more!

I do like the "In Memoriam" denotation on their IDs ... but that's just me.

Thanks...

I had to search ... I forgot the reference, but saw RouxRoux already has the denotation on his ID.

Does anyone recall the thread of him playing .... is that it?

I’m the same way. Not many posters over there these days that were posting in the early - mid 2000s. Lots of friends who were instrumental in our builds back in the day that have passed on or moved on.

sc_rufctr 06-11-2026 09:21 PM

I think of Joe Bob every time I post in his ultimate bike thread.

"Bite me"

- Rest in peace.

If you look up Dottore, mossguy and Dueller, there is a banner. Better check each name before mentioning. Now if they were added last night I'm not aware, but I did look at Dottore (the banner was there) when I posted on Joe Bob's thread 3 days ago. Now JB has a banner too.

We could be all caught up.

^^^ I think you are correct Milt ... they seem to have it now. Thanks to the man behind the curtain :)!

Can we unsticky this one ...

Danimal16 06-12-2026 02:34 PM

There is also Sherwood Lee, 911Pcar. He was very active here and on Early S, somewhat of a legend, IMHO, for the local So Cal old guys. Lost him back in 2021 (hard to believe).

I miss Sherwood - he was a good guy. He helped me put in a pushbutton start to save wear/tear on my 38 yo starter switch.

Also DonRo - did he stop or did he STOP? Not sure.

Lots of good guys have gone the way of all flesh...

gduke2010 06-12-2026 05:52 PM

I sure enjoyed Joe Bob’s post. He did a lot of things to his car that were similar to what I did on mine like a 3.6 conversion. So I PM him a few times with technical questions found he was very knowledgeable and helpful.

There used to be a long-time poster named Lubemaster ... I think he fell up a roof one day .... then poof ... he wuz gone!

Hey ;)

Crowbob 06-13-2026 03:27 AM

I never did like Lubey. Too bad he couldn’t be more like that Doc Holloway guy.
