I don't normally remember many...but when I do, they seem very real.
Last night I woke up after riding in a friends car and bit on something hard. Spit it out and it was my molar tooth...root and all.

Weird thing is, I have a six month dental exam next week.

My dreams seem to have no relationship with reality. Often in my dreams I am driving on familiar but unrealistic roads. Only occasionally am I interacting with people I know. Two nights ago, I encountered Her Majesty in a parking lot as she was getting into a car. A very stone faced man gave me a look which told me I had not seen anything.
After more than two decades I still have the occasional dream about walking into an account and finding large gaps in our milk display, or opening the back of a truck and realizing certain pallets of product didn't make it to our distribution depot.
They can stop any time.
From time to time I have a dream of having a conversation with my father or mother. Those always make me feel good upon waking.

Another strange one that I dreamt a month or so ago....

I was returning to MI and was connecting at the Geo Bush airport. I was tired and fell asleep in the concourse chair. Woke up in the dream and my flight had left. Went to the ticket counter and there were no flights going home or other states. Every flight for the next 3 days was to different cities in Mexico.
I picked Acapulco and boarded. The dream ended there.

I had a dream this morning that I was in a mall; not one I recognized though and I went in an electronics store and there was an Alpine 4 CASSETTE changer for car stereo and I remember thinking, well, the hipsters are into cassettes, so maybe Alpine was catering to them- very vivid images.

I also remember walking past a girl I know wearing a blue dress sitting on a guys lap on a bench and I just waved as I went past- didn't stop.

I have lots of dreams of peeing in weird places and not in proper toilets or urinals and luckily waking up needing to go pee, rather than waking up and realizing I already did!

I almost never remember dreams. About the only time that I remember a dream is if I get woke up in the middle of the dream. And then I only remember the dream for a short time. By the afternoon of the same day, I probably no longer remember the dream.

I remember as a teen, we would try the old small cup of warm water in the hand of a sleeping friend trick.

It never worked.

I have fixed problems in my sleep, but I also have the black shadow dreams every once in a while.

^^^ I have had the scary ones also...but I've never been killed or hurt in a dream.

I read recently that most individual dreams are less than 4 minutes in duration.

^^^ I believe that. It seems like they last hours...but the clock says otherwise.

Recurring

I’m a farmer on mars. My turn to clean out the chicken coops. Go to the dome. Take each bird out and give them a toss. Because of the lower gravity they can almost fly. I watch them flap and bounce around as slowly as I collect the eggs.

Dreams can sometimes/always be weird...lol

One of the few I remember: doing donuts in a field back in NY. Had some high school friends with me in a Lincoln Town car. .. odd.

Not in a while but I used to have a recurring dream that I got drafted AGAIN. I’m complaining that I already served while the drill sergeant is telling me to shut up and get back in line.

Or the one where I’m in college and I’ve skipped so many classes I can’t remember where my classroom is.

In the dream, I rolled the window down (old car?) and pitched it because it was dripping blood. No idea whose car or who was driving.



Unreal that I had another dream last night....prob because of this thread.

I was in my local bar and grille and when leaving, I couldn't find my Prelude. I walked around all the blocks bordering the bar and it was gone and I still had the key in my pocket. Woke up and I'll check the garage later on.

I have been able to do this at times. When I am having a dream and find myself in a tense situation, I can tell myself to wake up!!! It's kind of strange. I also dream in color.

Sometimes I will yell out things in my dreams.
An example: I was at some sort of resort type of area with my family and we were in a large dining hall that had a stage in it, like a dinner theater ball room. We were sitting at a round table and our server came over to us and the server/waitress was my oldest daughter. I don't remember any exchange of words but I remember feeling that we were happy to see her. An announcement came over a PA system that everyone needed to go to their rooms because a chupacabra had been sighted so, go to your rooms until given the all clear. So the next thing I remember is that I am alone and walking down a hallway when I see the chupacabra down the hall, and it sees me. We run towards each other and I tackle the thing. It has a long neck and a long snout and I begin choking it. Well, I have my hands around its neck but it is able to bend it's head down and bites down on my arm. So there we are, I am choking the creature and it is biting me and I begin yelling Awwwwww, but I am not letting go of the thing.
Then I wake up!!!! My wife is leaning over me, my kids are in the door of the bedroom, I am breathing heavy and my wife asked what was I dreaming about? I replied "damn chupacabra" and she and my kids laugh like crazy. They said they heard me yelling in my sleep and was seeing what was going on. I felt like I had been in a fight!!!

I have had several dreams like that in the past.

It's called Lucid Dreaming. I had a Frontiers of Science class during my freshman year of college at UCSD. It was a fun elective. We had an assignment to try and do it, but I wasn't able to.
